Great cable
About a year and a half ago I was using a Ernie Ball coiled cable. Really well made cable with no noise and such, but about two or three months ago I noticed it started to short out on me every now and then. Finally about two weeks ago that cable was done, stopped working & on inspection the connector plug in that I plugged into my guitars input was coming apart. The outside shielding… read more was starting to tear off. Decided to order this Fender coiled cable since it had good reviews & comes in purple. Compared to the Ernie Ball coiled cable this one is much lighter in weight. The Ernie Ball coiled cable is heavy & it's noticeable when standing & playing; almost like something is pulling down on your cable. Not with this cable though, this Fender Jimi Hendrix Voodoo cable is thick & hefty but surprisingly not heavy for a cable it's size. The large straight plug fits perfectly fine into my strats input jack. Also the larger plug on the input jack also doesn't cause the cable to rub against the jack or guitar body (think that with the weight of the Ernie Ball cable is what caused it to tear at the plug.) This cable is low noise, very well made, light weight compared to other coiled cables, and unlike vintage coiled cables it doesn't cut off your guitars high end. Also the flat pancake end plug makes it really easy to plug into your pedalboard.
Does what it's designed for
Great cord has plenty of stretch to it. Keeps it from laying on the floor.
Perfect purple
Great guitar cable. No hums or static. Playing it thru my Gibson Firebird thru various amps. No problem at all.
Nice Cable
I really like this cable. It is stout and you can tell by the feel in your hand that it is a quality product. Here are a couple things you will want to note: 1. This cable, while 30' long, is not very stretchy. It's coiled and likes to stay that way. It's max operational distance I would say is about 10'. It's just right if you are going from your guitar to your pedalboard.… read more 2. The right angle connector will NOT fit in a strat or tele jack. The straight connector is a large barrel connector that is not going to work well with your guitar, so I recommend changing the right angle connector. In my opinion, this cable is high enough quality to make it worth changing the connector. 3. The large barrel jack is perfect for feeding into a wah or amp input. You won't have to worry about it breaking or flaking out on you. Overall, I really like this cable. I just ordered a second one, and yes, I'll replace the right angle connector on it too. Its just a nice, tough cable.
