Great cabinet!!!
Bought this to pair with the Ecstasy 3534. I am more of an open-back cabinet player, so I was interested to how this would sound and feel. Bottom line, it is awesome!!! Punches way above it's weight, very balanced, good bass response and great projection. Full/rich sounding. Hard to believe it's a 1x12. This is also the first time I've played Creambacks, my other cabs have… read more V30's. They are somewhat similar, but the speaker voice in this cab really pairs fantastic with amp.
Much better quality than advertised
I just recieved mine 5 days ago, so I am still breaking in the speaker a bit but was surprised at the quality throughout. I don't have the matching head (yet) but purchased this cab as I use 1x 12" cabs particularly for travel, but wanted a cab that had the deep low end resonance and sound quality of my 2x12 combo amps, with less weight. As soon as I got it, I broke in the speaker… read more for an hour as per Celestion recommendation, then opened the back and looked inside. The wiring from the all metal jack to the speaker is much heavier than the 12 guage cable I use for my combos, AND it is soldered to the speaker, giving the speaker a very present feel when playing. like the guitar is about to jump through the speaker and grab someone. The cab is front ported with two approx. 2" ports with short pipes in place to funnel the sound from rear of the speaker through the port. There is mesh on the back panel for dampening. I usually use V 30 speaker for a hard rock tone but the Creamback is very similar, just some EQ adjustment needed, but a V 30 would sound very nice in this cab also. This cab also projects the sound very well as it is closed back, and projects better than my semi-open combo amps. Really like the increased width of this 1x12 as it really sounds like the 2x12, but projects better. My 2x12s sound a bit better about 3-6 ft away, the Bogner cab sounds better about 20 feet away, great for the audience! Very sturdy construction and workmanship, great for use with many different amps. Thanks again to Paul Rowan and the Sweetwater crew for getting this to me with no problems.
Great Bogner Quality and Sound
Bogner has always built great cabs and this one is no exception with solid construction and great attention to detail. This is a closed back, dual ported cabinet which gives you a big sound in a not so big cabinet. If you liked the smaller cube cabinet, but wanted something a little bigger, then this will fit the bill. It has that same punch, but due to the bigger size, it has… read more a more open sound. The width of the cab is nice too since it will fit a bigger head than the cube cab. Weight is decent and the sound is smooth with the Creamback speaker.
