Does the job

Got this because I recently broke my left upper arm/shoulder in a fall. The timing is never good for something like that, but in this case it was really bad. Spring is our busy time for gigs and I had 2 big ones coming up and I couldn't hold my bass and play at all (still can't) with my arm. The pain and limited mobility was just too much to deal with. The stand works great. There read more is a cut out for the jack, it is highly adjustable (I mean I had to bend the "S" curve to fit my Tobias 5-string), but it fits great. Holds it sturdy with a little give and take which feels like I'm driving it pretty good. I like the way it swivels so I can move around a lot. Since I can't move my arm more than a few inches up or down the neck, I can just move my whole body and stand where I need to be to play in whatever key we are in. It really works well. The only reason I didn't give it 5-Stars is the price tag. I mean, if you REALLY need something, I guess no price tag is too big. But come on, this thing is like a $25.00 music stand with a custom head on it. I suppose that's where all the $ is involved, but what I don't like, is if you wanted to use this for an Acoustic guitar, you have to buy an entire new one. Seems like they would at least sell the top part for an acoustic so you only had to buy 1 stand. Or make it a package deal and sell the 2 tops with one stand for somewhere in the middle. Hard to justify spending almost $700 if you want one for an electric, and one for an Acoustic. But hey, I guess they are in business to make $. Just seems like they would sell more if they were more reasonably priced. All that said, I would recommend this for anyone with any physical challenges or if you play another instrument and need to walk up to an electric for a song or 2 or whatever during a live performance, this thing works well.

Works with lots of guitars

Works well as described. Appears pretty sturdy. Will see how it lasts over the years. I was concerned about having difficulty being able to plug the guitar cable into the guitar when it is on the stand especially given some on line comments. The stand has a cut out that allows access to side guitar cable inputs and the angle of the guitar in the stand can be adapted to allow read more access. I have been able to fit several strat style guitars into the stand without cord access issues and it even holds my Chapman Ghostfret Explorer-style body without difficulty.

Using the K&M Performer Walk Up Guitar Stand - Electric

I had eyed the K&M Performer Stand for quite a long time, but never could justify the expense vs. useability. In June of this year I had a big surprise in my life in way of a quad open-heart bypass surgery. This limited my ability to pickup an electric guitar due to the weight. After talking to Michael Duncan about the stand and it's virtues, I ordered one. What a welcome surprise! read more I found that I was able to put one of my guitars (a Telecaster or what ever) in the stand and there was no more loading my very sore chest and back. I just simply put the guitar in the stand and when I am through playing, I just turn the rig off and walk away. I really love this and the stand will earn a permanent place next to my position in front of my mixing setup. Play when it's handy then turn it off. Try it! Dwayne Hunt

Solid

SOLID stand. Works fine with Les Paul and many others in my collection. If the grasp on your guitar feels a little weak to you, get a couple nuts to screw in behind the ones provided for reinforcement.

Perfect for a heavy bass

Great for a heavy bass, but make sure it has a top Jack not a side jack. If it has a side jack you can use a right angle plug.
