I've had the previous, non-adjustable version of this stand for several years. I needed a second stand and bought this. It's adjustable in that the spread can be lessened, unlike the non-adjustable model; but I use it at full spread (Ibanez RG and Fender Strat guitars). Since these two guitars don't have a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, I can leave them on the stands. K&M warn… read more that guitars with a nitrocellulose finish "require careful handling" and should be kept in their case and the stand only used for temporary support during performance (or practice). This is a solid stand. The rubberized surface creates friction, keeping the guitar secure and slip free.
