Really nice
Did not think it could sound better than being paired with my vintage slant Marshall cab but I was wrong. Man the Black Magic head and the 1799 cab were made for each other. Thanks Sweetwater Don J
Excellent sound at any price, but also fairly priced
Using this mostly with the Quilter Tone Block 202, mostly at studio volumes, and it sounds great. It has lots of clarity: even natural highs, full low end, but nicely separated in the low mids thanks to the open back. Very high quality build and finish. Highly recommend!
Truly great cabinet
I've run a Katana 100 head thru it, a Tone King Gremlin, a Supro Statesman and a Hughes&Kettner Tubemeister and at this point I must presume that ANY amp will sound amazing through this cab... and it looks cool as $#!\! IMHO. If I win the lottery I'll make a wall out of them. :-)
Tone machine
I received this cab with the Statesman head, and what a perfect pairing. First thing I noticed when taking it out of the box, so light! I had never played on a Supro amp at this point and for the investment, I was taking a big chance. Happy I pulled the trigger on this one. Big boy tone! I play rock, blues, Hendrix, Eric Johnson, Zeppelin. Cleans and articulation for days that… read more I would put up against a Marshall JTM45. What a great sensitivity level this thing has. I like to think I have a little John Mayer in my fingers, and when I finger pick I hear everything. It's great. All my pedals sound excellent through it. Fulltone Fuzz, tube screamer, OCD, TC reverb, delay--- Tons of bass (if you want it), but I like lead, cut right through sounds and this cab delivers. For the price point I'd say it was a deal for the sound quality. Supro has done an excellent job with this cab. As for the looks and materials---quality, quality, quality.
Great speaker cab
Great sounding speaker cab. It is a smaller cab than my other 2x12 cabs which gives a good punchy sound projection. It is also lighter than my other cabs so mobility is a good plus.
