I waited several months for this to come in and it was worth the wait. Just be aware that these speakers are very directional. The highs can be piercing. This cab sounded horrible until I moved it over 5 feet and it came to life. I have it hooked to a JVM205C and they work well together. You'll immediately hear the tone of numerous artists you've heard through the years. The read more only complaint is the plastic mounts for the casters. All in all, this is a great cab and worth the extra money. Just research V30's and know what you're getting.

If your amp(s) seem like it"s just not able to give you the tone that you had hoped for, chances are that you just need the right cabinet. This is that cabinet! It completely brought a smile to my face the moment I fired it up. And a special tip of my hat to my Sweetwater Rep, Ben Robinson for shipping this out to me super fast!

I've always used the Celestion Vintage speakers with my Mesa amps. With the purchase of a new JVM410HJS maybe it was time to switch to a non Vintage version. Especially since Joe S. spec'd the 1960A to go with his signature amp. The 1960A and 1960B were tried and they didn't sound right, imo. They sounded too shrill in the highs and lacking in the bass, imo. OK, maybe get a read more Mesa Standard 4x12 that I know sounds perfect. But, a Marshall amp should have a Marshall speaker cab to sit upon, right? This 1960BV wasn't tried but it was ordered from Sweetwater anyway since it did have the Vintage speakers. Oh yeah, this is the heavy-duty sound that goes great with the JVM410HJS Crunch/Red channel. I believe the correct decision was made for what was desired.

RE: vintage 30 Marshall Cab THE BEST THERE IS

A few weeks back I took 3 Celestion Vintage 30 speakers out of my shed and had them put in my Marshall 1960A cabinet. Why? Well good question. A month or so back I had my amp in the dealer for new tubes and a check up. and was given the service company's owner's Les Paul to play thru my amp to see if everything was OK. I got the surprise of my life. My buddy's les Paul had a Seymour read more Duncan APH-1 Pro set of pickups. and the cab I was hooked up to was a Marshall 4x12 full of 4 Vintage 30s. I could not believe the beautiful harmonically rich, meaty, beefy kick butt tone that flowed out of that amp (JCM 2000 DSL100) ..., guitar AND cabinet. So, I went out, got a set of APH-1 Pros for my les paul, and took 4 Vintage 30s out of my shed, and had them put in my cab... It is literally the best sound, the best tone, I have ever heard, anywhere. And I have been around a long time, and heard a lot of the worlds best bands live.. They say the V30 is the closest thing to an Alnico speaker, and was computer tested to sound like the expensive Celestion Blue the real ALNICO speaker.. I believe it. My cab is not this exact 1960VB but it might as well be because it is a Marshall cab with the same Vintage 30 drivers. By the way, these are phenomenal speakers to run a Rickenbacker 12 string through. I tried running them through G12T-75s but that didn't work too well. Ric loves the V30s. Take my word. This is the best there is, short of paying for a 4x12 Marshall cab with Celestion Blue or Gold drivers. This is virtually the cab that Slash uses.. Check out the most recent celestion flyer on tone. And check out the guitarists who use Vintage 30 speakers. It is a who's who list of the most famous guitarists of the last 35 years. Check one of these cabinets out. You will not be disappointed. The best there is in my book.
