Great alternative to the massive Firebird case
I bought one of these for my Gibson Firebird V. I was tired of lugging the enormous case to gigs, so this I think this is the best alternative. It is not a hard case and I only use it to take my guitar to gigs/studio dates, and it works just fine. It is not meant to take the place of a hard case, but if you understand that, it's great.
Skb cool
I like the case better then the guitar.
SKB Semi rigid case
I needed a case for my Jackson Kelly. I own several SKB cases already and have been extremely happy with them. This case doesn't disappoint so far. For the money it's a steal. Well made with plenty of storage and strap/handle options. The big issue for me is that it holds several different guitar models, so it's not a snug interior fit for my Jackson Kelly. It DOES hold the guitar,… read more but there's significant enough space around the body cavity that the guitar shifts around when you move the case. I simply glued some blocks of dense but soft polyurethane where I needed a tighter fit. (it's like Styrofoam but more plastic-ish. Usually found as padding in the boxes that TVs and delicate products come in). Otherwise, besides the zippers being really loud, lol, I'm very happy with it.

Pro: Fits a 1984 Gibson Explorer well , lots of storage pocket/compartment space for accessories. Balanced well as far as weight distribution unlike original rectangular case. Price reasonable. Con: Backpack-type straps clumsy and removed immediately. Good job by Sweetwater ; very fast shipping and follow-up.
