212 Vintage 120-watt 2x12" Extension Cabinet with Vintage Cloth Review

Great Cab !

I have two of these cabs one in vintage cloth and one in black cloth. Built really well and have lots of low end. I do however prefer to change out one of the Vintage 30,s with a Creamback 65m speaker. I have done that on both of my two cabs. But either way you cannot go wrong !! Great product

Everything Friedman Makes Is Phenominal!

I bought this 2x12, because I love my Friedman 4x12 so much, that has Greenback/Vintage 30's in it. Since Greenbacks are my all time Favorite Speakers, I had Sweetwater take out the 2 Vintage 30's in the Vintage 2x12, and put in 2 Greenbacks. They sound amazing with my Friedman BE-50 Deluxe, and my Friedman Twin Sister Ampheads. They also sound great with my Marshall Mini Silver… read more Jubilee Head. Since I liked the Vintage look of my Friedman 4x12, I decided to get the Vintage Friedman 2x12 also. Sweetwater is the only Music Store Online that I by from. My old associate was Sean Carolan, that took good care of me for years. Sadly, He left after the Covid Virus took place, but I was blessed enough to find an equally good associate in TJ Fuchella. These past few months I've bought 1000's of dollars of equipment from TJ, and I have to say that TJ is a true asset to your company. While I was still able to physically work, I was in the Customer Service Field my whole life, so I know what good customer service is, and TJ Fuchella is the epitome of that. Loving this 2x12

For the last year I've been playing my Friedman BE-50 Deluxe through the Friedman 4x12 Vintage cab and it's been the perfect combo. Decided I needed a smaller cabs for smaller clubs and gigs and decided to give this a try. This cab does not disappoint! For a 2x12 it sounds huge and is also a great option for the BE-50 Deluxe. Sometimes I've found that V30's can sound a bit harsh until broken in but for some reason this cab has no harsh qualities coming out of it. It sounds just as good as my broken in 4x12 and I've only had it for a week now and put about 12 hours playing time on it. Can't wait to hear it fully broken in! I gave it some Mesa Track-Lok casters because I'm not getting any younger and cabs aren't getting any lighter. They are the perfect casters for these Friedman cabs.

Great Looking & Sounding!

The cab sounds as great as it looks. Very solid construction; perfectly fitted tolex & piping. Grille cloth is really nice and uniformly woven. Very classy looking! Capable of delivering LOTS of low-end response if you want it yet still articulate, open & warm sounding through entire frequency spectrum. V30's sound really huge in this box and 3-dimensional. Rather focused & directional… read more dispersion pattern so it won't splatter sound all over the stage. Still pleasing when listening slightly off-axis. Nice leather grip on top handle. No side handles make it a little less convenient to wrangle out of tight spaces or the cargo area of a vehicle. Large, heavy-duty rubber feet on bottom of cab are solidly attached. Since I don't really need roadcases any more I bought Tuki slipcovers for this cab and the BE-50 Deluxe head; fits like a glove.

The Perfect 2x12 Cab.

I love this cabinet. I have had it for about 6 months now and it gets better and better. It has a big and open, three dimensional, high definition tone with plenty of punch. The cab projects very well and is not too focused, boomy or harsh. I use this with a BE-100 head and it sounds fantastic in any gain situation you put it in (low or high gain). The cab is solid, very well made… read more and looks very classy and classic. It replaced an EVH 2x12 which was okay sounding, but the Friedman takes the cake. Its far richer, clearer and open sounding. It is that much better! Like comparing a Hyundai to a BMW. I also like that it is made by a great company, right here in sunny California. Thanks to my sales friend Michael Grebe for helping me get this cab. I will be buying another soon to have a nice stereo setup with my BE100. There are other great cabs out there (Port City, Bogner, Suhr, Wizard, Stone Age) but for my BE100 this is the clear winner.
