Awesome Cab!!! If it can survive Fedex delivery drivers it can survive anything you can throw at it!
First off I want to say that I think Sweetwater is a great company and I was extremely excited to order from them and extremely satisfied with the service (and candies!) they provided when I ordered my Marshall 2555x 100w Head, however I ordered the Silver Jubilee 4x12 Straight cab back in May of this year, I was told there would be a 3 week wait and after that deadline being met… read more and passed with no word I called my sales engineer and several others to get the story. 2 more deadlines passed (next week, sorry next week) and I had to call again, this time I was told July 20th or so, almost a full 2 months of having nearly $... floating around in cyberspace. Finally I got sick of the finish line being moved and the excuses and settled on the Angled Jubilee 4x12 cab instead of the straight cab I wanted, Sweetwater did a fast job of getting that cab sent out asap as it was in stock. As of this review (7-26-20) the straight cab is STILL not in stock. I understand back orders and delays happen, but nearly two months with no real idea of when to expect it is a long time to wait with nearly $... out of your pocket with nothing to show for. I feel like Sweetwater has a lot of leverage to get the real story from Marshall on when they will be able to deliver a cab. Needless to say I still love both Marshall and Sweetwater, but I will be coming back for the straight cab in the future, please be on your game for when that order is placed! :)Now on to the cab review!Let me tell you, when this thing arrived I was worried it was going to be beat up after seeing the package arrive literally opened on my door step and a tracking number note that stated a new package label had to be created for it due to the carnage of the box, but Marshall proves just how great their build quality is and why their equipment is so road worthy when even several of Fedex's worst delivery employees with all of their might couldn't manage to leave any damage on the cab despite an open box!, not even a glint or scratch on this beautiful cab! it looked truly spectacular when I unboxed it. Sadly the Sweetwater candies did not fare so well in this order, they were crushed. When I bought my Marshall 2555x Head, I knew it just couldn't sit on top of one of my black 4x12's, it needed the silver cabs that go with it as well as the Vintage 30 speakers it was designed for. I'm so glad I got this cab, its beautiful, it and the Silver Jubilee head actually sparkle and shimmer in the sunlight, something you don't see and can't appreciate in pictures, but in real life you can!. Anyway, it sounds amazing!!!!! juicy notes, raw power, clarity, punch and definition the likes you have to play to believe and its built TOUGH!. If Fedex's blatant attempts to kill it couldn't, you certainly won't harm it either!. With my Silver Jubilee's volume on just 6 in 100watt mode it pushes nearly 131 decibels and enough of a sound pressure wave for my friends 2 miles away to hear me play the National Anthem on the 4th of July with the cab facing the opposite direction of their house. This is the only rig I have never found the courage to dime the volume on. In spite of everything I am happy with the Angled cab and hoping soon I can be able to get the matching straight cab if they ever become available.
Great Cab, Perfect Match
Received the cab in perfect condition, which is amazing considering the meager packing job by Marshall. The cab sounds bigger than my Bogner OS2x12, has more bite than my old Marshall B cab with greybacks. It's a perfect match for the lower mid voicing of the Jubilee, sounds equally as good with the Friedman JJ100. The service from Sweetwater was perfect, great price, fast shipping,… read more good communication. Thanks!
Perfect
Sounds great with the 2555X head . It took two shipments as Fedex damaged the first but Sweetwater sent a replacement.
Nice cab but...
This cabinet is really beautiful looking and built top notch like you would expect from Marshall. But I did not like the sound of the G12 Celestion speakers at all. I replaced the speakers with a combo of 2 Creambacks and 2 Tone Tubbys. I know it's probably a matter of preference but I did not like the fuzzy edge the the G12s provided. Now with my own own speaker choices this… read more cabinet sounds great! I feel I was a bit misled by the "Vintage 30s" in the specs. They are G12s and I guess 30wt but very stock. All and all I'm please with the actual cabinet. I love the low end it puts put.
