Music Nomad String Care

Works great. The Lacquered maple neck and fretboard on my Telecaster would get clingy if I perspired or when humidity was high. This really helped, and cleaned the dirt off the strings. I could hear an improvement in the tone right away. Highly recommend

I recent received this cleaning kit if I can put two more stars on I would this is the easiest way to clean and lubricate your strings I have four bases and four electric guitars so you can understand why I need something simple to use, I've used the ghs fast fret but it was a real nuisance to me and never covered all the strings and you have to sit there forever to clean them,, read more and every time I get done using my instrument I clean the strings I never knew how much Gunk can get on strings after 2 hours of playing that's even after washing my hands before playing, take it from a musician that's been playing for 40 years

An amazing applicator with a mediocre lubricant

(Regardless of the product's score, Sweetwater's service is the best I've ever seen.) As the title mentions, the applicator is amazing. On my 4 string, I can glide down to the 24th fret while covering every string. The applicator didn't arrive dry, as people on other sites have mentioned. Richard's review mentions how tough the bottle of cleaner is to open, but I'd disagree. The read more cap is like what you'd find on a bottle of pills/mouthwash. Just squeeze the cap, unscrew it, and you're good to go. I would agree with him that the cleaner/lubricant is much worse than what Dunlop offers. As he mentioned, the Dunlop 65 ultraglide does improve the tonal quality of dirty strings. For my bass, they sound much brighter. Of course, for bass strings, you should just replace them, but Dunlop's Ultraglide also does a better job at lubricating the strings. I actually have to use a cloth to wipe down excess liquid after applying it. It's also worth mentioning that Dunlop 65 smells much better. I can't quite describe what Dunlop's cleaner smells like, but I can tell you that Nomad's cleaning solution smells like strawberry cough syrup. The only problem with the Ultraglide is that its applicator is terrible. Maybe when the Nomad applicator dries out, I can soak it in Dunlop 65. Ultimately, I'd recommend anyone interested in this product to get themselves a bottle of Dunlop 65 Ultraglide and to follow Richard's guide on how to apply it. It's on this site; I'd link it, but you can't put links in reviews.

Impossible to open bottle!

he cap on the bottle was so badly designed that I had to ruin the bottle to open it! I wound up tossing the whole thing. I'm making a special effort to give this product a bad rating. I never saw anything like this before. I've been opening bottles all my life. They may have changed things by now, but the inside of the cap (the part with threads) would spin freely inside the outside read more part that you hold onto. So instead of the cap coming off when you tried to unscrew it, the outside of the cap would just spin freely around the inside part and the whole cap assembly would just stay on the bottle! I did manage to get some of the fluid out of the bottle once, but as far as I could tell, the quality definitely wasn't what I would want. I've had good luck with Dunlop 65 string cleaner. The Dunlop 65 actually vastly improved the tonal quality of dirty strings. I could definitely hear the difference. The Dunlop 65 string cleaner is about the best I've found so far. However, I advise pressing a piece of terrycloth against the felt pad on the Dunlop 65 bottle until the cloth gets about a 1" wet circle of fluid on it. Then, using a finger or two on the wet spot, rub and scrub the strings with your finger(s) to get them clean.
