Great all-around pick

Travis

When I first started learning guitar, I picked up one of those Dunlap variety packs which included these. I started with a very thin celluloid pick. But as I got stronger in my skills, I tried thicker picks. The thicker and celluloid pick had a twang to them that I didn't like, and I didn't like the feel of the grip. I tried the Gator Grips and found the pick I didn't know I wanted. read more It's just a comfortable pick to use.

I play loud rock guitar and acoustic 12 string. It is good for both. It easy to grip and does not slip from sweaty hands. The pick is just a little smaller than normal and I really like the size. I use the rounded corners for attack instead of the tip of the pick. These picks do not make that "kakuh" sound when striking the string. The pick produces a good clear bite of tone without read more the artifacts. The pick wears well but does change shape over the course of its life. In a bind, I drag the worn pick across sandpaper to reshape the "round" to a usable state. A new fresh pick is better though.

I acquired my first guitar about three years ago and have been using either a plastic variety pack (generic) or a generic celluloid pick and just assumed everything was fine... These just arrived in the mail today and I didn't even realize the other picks I used were uncomfortable. I mean it would be like wearing shoes for the first time, if you didn't know about shoes you would read more have just accepted bare feet as the norm. I really don't want to use any other type of pick ever again. There really is no good reason to not try these if you haven't before.

It's a pick.

At first it was annoying, the new picks were hard to hang on to and they kept missing my strings. After trying each of them one at a time and getting the same results, I had a thought...this time I'll remove them from the little bag. It worked...go figure !
