My favorite pick
I've used Dunlop Tortex and Max Grip for years. Previously Max Grip 1.0 and 1.5 were my go-tos. The 1.14 Prime Grips just feel perfect to me. Grip is good and in a round pattern in the center of pick, so I can really feel where and how I'm holding it...something about how my fingers can feel the amount of smooth material in the corners. The delrin seems to glide across strings more… read more smoothly for me than nylon. I swear I can pick cleaner and smoother with these. Not saying they're for everyone, but they work really well for me.
Better grip but lacks the magic of the standard Delrin 500
I ordered these picks hoping they would be identical to the standard Delrin 500 1.14mm pick but with a better grip. Well, the grip is definitely better. However, this pick does not sound or feel the same as the original Magenta counterpart. Compared to the Magenta picks, the Prime Grip does not feel as firm and solid, and single notes are not as clear and punchy. The sound is… read more a little brighter (not necessarily a bad thing) and there is more pick noise with the Prime Grips. The Prime Grip is still a good pick. It just isn't as good as the standard Delrin 500. Based on this experience, I decided to not try the 1.5mm or 2.0mm Prime Grip. I'll just stick with the standard Delrin 500s.
