I have the 2x12 cab and got two of these 1x12 cabs to have a smaller stereo rig. All I can says if amazing tone and response for such a small compact cab. Thank Joe Schafer for helping with this purchase.

Serious EVH mojo in this 1x12

MASSIVE tone out of such a small package. I bought this for home practice, but provides such a great sound. Thought I would put it the test & brought it to practice - it did NOT disappoint. Using an LBX I with this amazing EVH 112 and the resonance knob makes this thing sound like a 4x12 was behind me. Not sure what voodoo they are using, but it is working, so do not overlook read more all of the R&D that the fine folks EVH have put into creating such amazing tone. p.s. Charlie Davis has handled my GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) the past 5+ years - Les Paul, Marshall DSL40C, Fender PRRI & a slew of pedals. CANNOT thank you enough Charlie.

im writing this review to help other musicians, you can ABSOLUTELY use one of these cabs with a 50 watt head., the speaker in this cab can handle up to 60 watts., i hope im helping to clear up the confusion. nontheless i own 2 of these and run my 5153 el34 through them and sometimes split them with my marshall dsl1- you wont be disappointed and this is the absolute best 1x12 you read more can buy for the money, no need to change speakers., this one is fantastic at any volume

Top Quality Cab

I own, have owned, and have seen, a lot of cabinets and this one is among the best. I've had mine a few years so hopefully nothing has changed. I'm writing a review now because I just swapped speakers and had the cab opened up. Rock solid construction and attention to detail. For example, the jack is a switchcraft type - metal, not plastic. And the jack is mounted to a steel jack read more cup. That cup is fixed to the cabinet back by little bolts and nuts that have a star washer, going all the way through to the other side, not just little wood screws. The EVH emblem is mounted with T-nuts! Again, not just wood screws. There is a bar of wood across the front, to which the emblem mounts and it is positioned right in front of the speaker center so as to eliminate excessive highs. I have another 1X12 cab, $ more expensive, by a more prestigious manufacturer. That cab was exceptionally well made - except. Except that it uses a plastic jack plate, and plastic jacks mounted to a small PCB. The EVH equals the high priced cab in wood craft and betters it at the jack. As for sound? The prestigious maker's little cab is famous for having a big sound from a very small box. I love that. The EVH equals the more expensive cab. I swapped out the stock speaker for a Celestion G12K-100 because I use a number of different heads and needed more power handling than 30 watts. Turned out to be a giant killer. It has strong, decent lows with no "thrumming" resonant points. No, it won't thump you as hard as a bigger cab but it isn't a weakling either. Small, big sound, portable with pro grade construction and details. I really love small but mighty 1X12's. And this EVH is as good as there is in that category.
