I have used this for my guitars for years. Good for finished wood, metal parts, bare rosewood feet boards also! I use it for my hand drums also (not the skins tho). The polish leaves a very thin layer of polish after buffing. Kind of like a super thin wax. I also use it to get the grime out of old srings with success.
4oz Gibson stuff really does the job!

This little can of stuff, with just a misting of the polishing cloth, took about a year and a half worth of gigging grime right off the nitro finish on my '62 AVRI Strat. I tried other stuff, but man this did it! Thank you to sales engineer Brian Hughes for the great following up on the order. Sweetwater's got the customer service dialed in! Will order from this company again.

It seems to protect pretty well but my main purpose for polish is keeping the neck slick. Most other polishes I've used make it sticky. This stuff is just the best for slickness. It leaves it looking little too good though. I'm actually looking forward to my axe aging, naturally.
