Excellent FRFR Monitor
I Purchased two when using the Fractal AXE FXII XL+ Been using the Fractal AXE FXIII the past two years If you know how to dial the right settings of the Fractal Sag,Speaker drive settings as well as the advanced settings in the amp and back blocks it will give you all the dynamics, harmonics as well as tight bottom end The weight is amazing for the resonance that is needed in… read more amp modelers. Asm 12 monitors
I received the monitors from Sweetwater and I was like a kid on Christmas opening gifts. I was not disappointed. I just purchased the Fractal Audio FX III guitar processor. I needed a good Frfr speaker system. The Asm 12's offer a flat response needed to get the most from the processor. They sound so incredible!! The price was a little steep but I would do it again. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone that is looking for that professional sound.
Friedman speakers
The sound is phenomenal. One of the best purchases I ever made.
This is the one you want.
After looking at all the reviews and videos, in addition to talking with someone who has one, I bought it and love it. It is a must if you have a Kemper. It has a slight hiss due to its design, but you won't notice it when you play. It's meant for a stage, so yes, it will get absurdly loud. I won't take mine past 5 when at home. If you are looking to feel your music in your bones,… read more buy it. It's crystal clear as well whether low volume or blasting it.
Blows the PowerCab out of the water!
The Friedman ASM-12 is just what I needed! I"m a full-time guitarist and vocalist in a wedding and corporate event band. When I first started using my Helix on stage, the most trouble I had was getting it to monitor properly. Getting a pleasing tone out of my wedge was frustrating. This was especially true when I wasn"t also running sound, having less control over the exact mix… read more I wanted. When Line 6 came out with the PowerCabs, I thought I had my answer, but when I got it and used it tilted back and facing me, it was way too harsh sounding, no matter what I tried. I spent a TON of time trying to get it right but nothing worked. Bear in mind that the PowerCab sounds nice if you have it behind you like a traditional amp rig, but that"s not what I was attempting to use it for. The other issue is that if you dial in the general sound to be darker and more pleasing, then it affects the main line out, causing other headaches. The Helix/PowerCab combo sounds great through the mains, and obviously guitar eq needs to be way brighter with a band to cut. However, when the cab is tilted and right in your face, it"s not a fun time. Long story short, I returned it and got the Friedman. The difference was not even close! The ASM-12 is voiced better, actually sits on the ground as a wedge (helping low-end), and behaves better as a monitor or if it"s behind you like a traditional amp. I like that it stands vertical behind me, too, saving a little stage space. This whole thing is obviously subjective, and yes the Friedman is heavy and a pain to lug around, but if you"re like me and you play three to four times a week for four to five hours per gig, the enjoyment of your own sound is worth it! For anyone reading this who has similar performing situations to mine, I hope this is helpful! My next step is to order a custom cover for this beast from Tuki Covers. I only wish that Friedman had made their own cover, but not a huge deal. The finish of the ASM-12 isn"t tolex but a thick paint finish? I imagine without proper protection that it will scuff. I like keeping my stuff looking nice :). Thanks for reading!
