Great Cable kit.
Easy to build cables with small diameter cable makes it easy to route on pedal board. Love the cable can go both straight or 90 degrees coming off the connector. Will need to buy a second kit to fully replace the old clunky pedal cables/
Best I've used
Boss hit a home run with these pedalboard kits' I purchased the 24 and 12 kit and would absolutely purchase them again. Well worth asking price. They build very easy,, work every time and I compared them to other companies and found no loss in tone. I use a full ES-8 switching system and I have found this style cable to be the best there is. I can't be happier. Trick with any… read more build yourself cables is taking your time for proper termination. This is what will make or break your rig.
Boss Pedalboard Cable Kit
My first couple of tries were unsuccessful with these cables. I figured out I was using the wrong type of wire cutters to cut the cable so cable was crimping. I then used the cable cutter that came with the DiAddario cable kit which is a single sharp blade enclosed in a plastic shell. Once I did that I was 100% accurate. Also when screwing in the set screw that holds the cable… read more in, do not over tighten. I tightened until the top of the screw was slightly below the connector. These cables are nice and thin and flexible. What I would like to see is a cable cutter included along with the cap covers so when you are using the angle feature the cable stays at a right angle. Other than that I like these cables and are on my current pedalboard.
First time trying a kit
These are nice for getting started with making your own cables, I made all six of mine work after some trial and error, you have to make sure the cable cut as straight as possible, and that it goes always inside the plug, they seem to give you more than enough cable to make up for errors, I still have some left over. Once I got the cables made I noticed a huge improvement in high… read more end, I saw a comment below, if you lost high end, you might want to take them apart and make sure the cable is all the way inside the tip, as I had that issue as well and realized I hadn't gotten the cable all the way in! I would recommend these for anyone who is interested in getting started with making your own cables.
Worked Great
I have never used a pedalboard kit before but I figured boss wouldn't release this unless they were quality. I took apart a pedalboard with premade mzmogami gold patch cables and used these to clean up my board. I wired up my board and all my cables were good and I had no problems with them. Cutting the cable and adding the connectors was easy and all my cables worked on the first… read more attempt. My board is now much cleaner and there isn't extra cables all over the place. Next, I want to try the new Daddario power cable kit so I can clean it up even more.
