It works great, pay attention here
Just like all the pressure fit systems like Bill Lawrence and Geo L, this works great but takes some sensible understanding of soft plastic cable jackets and driving a setscrew into them. Instruction from one who knows: Determine your desired length and with good wire cutters, make perpendicular cuts through the cable. Push (and/or twist) cable into the plug so it can mate with… read more the sharp internal center conductor tine. Whilst holding this firm by simultaneously holding the plug and your pressured connection start to tighten the setscrew until you feel a bit of resistance and then tighten a bit more. Then do the other cable side. Check with an ohm meter for S continuity and T continuity - this is critical! You will possibly have to tighten the setscrews more until you reach ground continuity. If you over-tighten you'll drive right through the soft jacket and either get no connection or short your hot to your ground.
Pedalboard cables
These are easy to work with, and helped clean up the mess of traditional cables on the board. I would use them again and in fact HAVE a couple of times
The only solution for the ES-8 patch bay.
I bought a Boss ES-8 switcher and soon discovered that to use all of the loops requires connectors to the patch bay that are extremely small. Standard right angle plugs interfere with adjacent connectors, and standard Switchcraft straight connectors extend quite a distance from the unit and take up a lot of pedal board space. The Boss connectors and cable are very compact, work… read more both straight and on a right angle, and are easy to assemble.
Haven't been dissapointed yet!
Custom patch cables are the greatest. The only thing I thought is that the Boss professional cable would be thick as a regular 1/4 inch cable would be, but it makes sense when you want ultra-thin cable on your pedalboard to make things cleaner. Thanks Jason.
Worked Great
I have never used a pedalboard kit before but I figured boss wouldn't release this unless they were quality. I took apart a pedalboard with premade mzmogami gold patch cables and used these to clean up my board. I wired up a board with 8 pedals and all my cables were good and I had no problems with them. Cutting the cable and adding the connectors was easy and all my cables worked… read more on the first attempt. My board is now much cleaner and there isn't extra cables all over the place. Next, I want to try the new Daddario power cable kit so I can clean it up even more.
