Excellent
I found this guitar by accident at a random local music shop. The guitar sounds excellent and the price point was just about right. I checked the internet for price comparison for this guitar, how it compares to other guitars, and for some information about Breedlove. Everything I found online was good stuff and the this particular shop had a sale (20% off) acoustic guitars so I… read more took it home. I love this guitar and it is difficult to put down.
This guitar is made to plug in!!
It looks absolutely stunning. The sound from myrtle wood is very unique and offers the warmth and mids that I was hoping for. My only complaint, being on the small size and more akin to a parlor guitar, it doesn't project too loud. However, I would say it is perfect for hooking up in an amp as it doesn't have that phoney acoustic sound that many guitars tend to have. Overall, I'm… read more very pleased with the purchase even though this replaced a solid sitka spruce Breedlove. Definitely hook this up in an amp and play it if you're considering buying it. It makes all the difference!!
Its ok.. im kinda dissapointed tho
For all of the hoo-hah media excitement praising this amazing guitar, i am honestly feeling a bit disappointed. (I waited over three months to receive this guitar) every day looking at pictures of this guitar...it IS pretty to look at... and the sound is decent-- its nicely balanced , but the tone is not as warm and wonderful as i imagined it would be, and it just feels like… read more a cheapo made-in-China version of a Breedlove guitar. And it is made in China. I would say to rather spend that same amount of money on a used Martin or Taylor or similar quality instrument. My friend has a real Breedlove guitar , made in Bend, Oregon, and the difference in sound quality and playability is huge. He says it will sound alot better when it is "broken in". I hope he is correct. Which brings me to the point that you should NEVER buy a guitar without playing it first! Bad move. It can look like such a beauty, but each one sounds and plays differently. Years ago a woman at Taylor factory told me this. The best guitars i have ever owned were ones that i played and sang along with.
