Update - Follow Up To My Previous Review
The guitar has become extremely dull sounding. There's no sustain. It's baffling and very dissappointing. I keep every instrument inside its case. I own 12 high end instruments: Guild, Collins, Asturius, Martin, Gibson, Fender, Taylor, vintage '65 Hagstrom. My studio is maintained at 47 relative humidity and 72 degrees F, 24/7/365. I would not purchase this guitar based on… read more my present experience with this drastic degridation in its tone. I cannot in good conscience recommend the Breedlove Legacy Concerto CE guitar.
Exceeded My Expectations
I received my Breedlove Legacy Concerto CE guitar in December 2020. I was assisted by my Sales Engineer, Mr Kevin Spunde. He provided me with one of the best buying experiences in my entire life. We discussed my preferences for the setup. I also requested a Plek Pro fret adjustment. Kevin relayed my requests to the guitar technician who performed the best setup of any acoustic I've… read more ever owned. Note: I count five different inspectors technicians etc., who had a hand in insuring everything was right about this guitar prior to shipping. This is according to the signatures and initials listed on the paperwork shipped with the guitar. What a score, as this was my first Breedlove. Just because a guitar is visually stunning to look at, it doesn't always necessarily mean it plays and sounds like it looks. This guitar exceeded my expectations phenomenally! As soon as I played it, the creativity free flowed like no other. The combination of the superb setup, the Adirondack spruce and Koa wood tones are other worldly. It's an absolute joy to play. It sings! I contacted the company to let them know. They are a first class company. It was a pleasurable experience. So, I want to thank Kevin and the entire Sweetwater team for being a Breedlove dealer, and for the exceptional service I have always received. I now have the perfect guitar. I highly recommend this guitar.
Great Guitar!
Short answer is this is a great guitar. Long answer: I have owned and played hard a Martin dreadnought for 20 years and thought it time to buy my second brand new guitar. Life is short, ya know, and all that... Well, I didn't think I would end up spending so much, but, as I browsed through the choices and options of Breedlove, I ended up deciding this was the one. I chose Breedlove… read more after reading their webpage and the fact that they were born of Taylor lineage, among other particulars. Part of the cost is the attention to detail in craftsmanship and that it is made here, not in China. I am willing to pay for that. It is beautiful and plays very well, better than my trusty old Martin. It sounds fabulous, too, both unplugged and plugged. Never thought I would buy a guitar without playing it for an hour first but this guitar is a keeper!
