Dr Z Z-Best Cab
There's a reason Dr Z calls this Z-Best cab, and it's because it's the best cab I've ever played. I went with this cab over similar ones fir a number of reasons. For one, the weight is extremely low for a 2x12 cab. Similar ones from Peavey, Orange, and other brands start at like 50+ pounds. This at 45 pounds is just wonderful. Another part is the speaker combo and the horizontal/vertical… read more capability. The combination of the Creamback 65 and the Vintage 30 is absolutely massive in the horizontal position (albeit a touch dark for my taste and didn't quite vibe with my amp and my style of playing but still sounds great), and in the vertical position it's got a ton of presence and air (a much better match for my amp and playing). This also saves on space, which in my small apartment is critical. Currently, it sounds thicc and focused with my rig and every note cuts through on both a clean tone and a heavily distorted tone. Both shoegaze and Dragged Into Sunlight worship sound fantastic on this cab. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a modern metal tone or a great clean tone.
Great cabinet and lightweight!
the Creamback and V30 mix is great, rounds everything off, Dr Z started using this Italian Poplar wood to shave some weight off which is great but still sounds big! the spec sheet on this still says its rated at 60 watts, not true its rated at 120 watts with this speaker config. I would recommend this cab to someone who wants that thick tight sound but in a lightweight cab.
