Great step up from a smaller board like the PT-JR

I've been putting off upgrading from my old 17" PT-JR for a few years. My pedal "needs" have grown and I got tired of constantly deciding what to leave off the board, and I no longer wanted to bother with rewiring and all that. I just wanted everything to be in place that I use. The Classic 1 is a great size. It's not THAT much bigger than the old PT-JR, 5" wider to be exact,… read more but it gives you much more room to get a lot on there and keep it spaced enough that it's not overly cramped. More space underneath allows for better cable management as well. I'm using this with two power supplies, both mounted underneath side by side with plenty of room for both, the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+, and a Cioks DC5. The Cioks plugs into the courtesy outlet on the PP2+ so I've got one power cord going to mains power. It's built like a tank, and somehow also very lightweight (not so light with all the pedals on it, but at least the board itself isn't doing much to contribute to that). I considered the Classic 2 as well because it's ONLY 2" wider over the Classic 1, but somehow, any bigger would feel like overkill.. The Classic 1 is right there in the sweet spot for me.

Well built and sturdy. I'd give it 5 stars if it had an outside pocket. But that's my bad for not researching it more. Oh well, plenty of room on the inside for cables and crap. And Sweetwater's shipping! Ordered it Thursday afternoon and I have it Friday after work! And for free!
