Tops in my book
After more than a year using a clip-on strap on my 5-string Savannah, and cringing every time the plastic connectors slapped against the body of the banjo, I thought I"d try the D"Addario cradle-style classic strap. Really glad I did. It fits perfectly around the instrument and around me, as well. It looks like part of the banjo — neat, clean and comfortable. A big plus is that… read more it fits fine in a tight case. The clip-on had to be removed when stowing the banjo, otherwise the sliding plastic adjusters on the strap laid on the finger board or under the neck. More chances for dents and dings. If you"re switching to a cradle-style strap, would recommend measuring the width of the area where the strap slides under the hooks, to know if it will accommodate the strap width. Also recommend looking on-line to see the many options for mounting the classic strap. And, did I mention that the price is probably the best on the market right now? Can"t beat it!
It is WAY to long to fit a banjo unless you want to cut it down and cut new holes into it.
Leather?
Disappointing. If this strap is leather, it must be something like Patent Leather or leather from some prehistoric animal. Very stiff strap that doesn't seem to soften no matter what. Uncomfortable and over-priced.
