Sexy and Warm!
After having not played the guitar for a super long time, I decided it was time and searched for a nylon string guitar that was approachable and easier to play than a classical guitar. Well, I found that in the Cordoba GK Studio Negra Lefty. This instrument is gorgeous and resonant with warm and rich tones! I've since put on different strings and - with thinner trebles - I am able… read more to get a slightly brighter and more penetrating sound, while retaining its rich tone qualities. The only issue that I had with the guitar out of the box is intonation its; and it's huge! This is why only 4 stars. As a professional musician, this is a serious concern. One cannot work with an instrument that is compromised with such problem. Then after alerting my sales engineer, Cristian Guerrero, Jim Soracco and Justin Dunbar came to the rescue and were most accommodating and eager to remedy the situation. Upon mentioning that the guitar will need work on its saddle and a proper setup if I was going to keep the guitar, they gave me the green light to bring it to a guitar-techician and offered to reimburse me for the setup fee. They even sent me a replacement guitar in the process, with the hope that it would have more stable intonation. In the end, I kept the original guitar and sent back the replacement. I have done work on its saddle and strung on different sets of strings to see and hear what works best, and I am happy to say that its intonation is much improved. It definitely still needs the proper attention and work of a guitar technician. And when this Covid-19 crisis is contained and a guitar shop is open again, I will do just that. Until then, I must give the BIGGEST SHOUT OUT to the SWEETWATER SOUNDS TEAM! You're AWESOME!!!I truly appreciate your service and integrity, especially during this tough time of so many uncertainties. THANK YOU!!! I give you all at least 11 STARS!!!!!!
