Good product so far but...

I bought this pedal board to replace my handmade one of about the same size. So far overall it works as advertised and it is great. No complaints. However, my right angle pre-made patch cables do not work with it very well; the send and return TSR inputs on the switcher unit, located beneath the unit, are packed tight together and close to the ground, essentially requiring a straight read more plug or at least one of the flat pancake right angle patch cables like mogami. Who makes patch cables of various short lengths with a straight plug on one end and a right angle on the other? Spoiler: almost no one =]. also, the cables do not function the way they do on a board where everything is on the top; they have to snake around a bit more and thus cover less ground. Thusly, I am now looking at the solder less and soldered hand made patch cables to custom rig this board. Should I have thought all this through to begin with? probably. Is there a simple solution to this I am not considering? possibly. Nonethess, my point is that before you buy this product, consider that cabling this board requires some degree of planning and definitely money.

Worth the money!

I'd been needing to upgrade my board for a while and I'm super happy with the way this is set up. Having the cables underneath is the way to go for sure. Any other board and switching system combo requires heavy duty modification to do what this one does right out of the box!

Wow! Very pleased!

Between the time I ordered this and received it, I had already started to second guess this purchase. Was the switcher really worth it? Was I spending a little too much on this setup? Within seconds of opening the box, all doubt disappeared. The board is incredibly light, but also feels very strong and solid. The layout is well thought out - with lots of access points and enough read more clearance for a power supply or some "always on" pedals underneath. The switches feel good. The lights are bright and the labeling is clear. It was very easy to wire up and even though my power supply is from another brand, I was able to mount it without problems. I started using it as a simple loop switcher and felt the audio quality was excellent. Removing all unneeded items from the signal path does seem to my ears to remove a little noise and bring up the high end a tiny bit. The basic loop mode couldn't be easier to use. I started there to get comfortable with the board and I am now starting to play with the preset modeā€¦ Which is awesome! My only problem is now I want a bigger board and more loops :)

Great Addition.

So far this is an excellent addition to my rig. The quality of the board is second to none in its class and is amazingly light. All of the cable routing options are really well thought out and it comes with zip ties, zip tie holders and velcro so the guys at Voodoo Labs really covered the bases for you. The switcher while not as advanced as some is still an excellent way to program read more patches and for me is more than enough. You don't really realize how much signal you're losing through 8 pedals until you're not losing it anymore. At rehearsal, everyone commented on how much more presence my rig had and I was actually a notch done on my amp. The programming is super simple and the PX-8+ is expandable with some of the other VL stuff. Also, the bag is better than it looks in the pictures, really nice quality and more than enough if you're just doing weekend gigs. One thing to be aware of is you will need something like SIS or Lava Cable Tightropes to patch in the switcher, standard cables are too large for the space provided. As usual absolutely top quality service from Zach at Sweetwater.
