Great little pedalboard

Simple. Portable. Awesome construction. And, even though the case doesn't have extra pockets, it's well made and does have enough room on top for cables and an extension cord even after the board (with pedals attached of course) is strapped in. I have the small dingbat (18" x 7.75"). Almost any way I arrange my pedals (currently 1 regular sized, 3 mini, and 1 L6-G50 wireless receiver), read more there is always about a half row of unusable space along the top. This model would be more useful and less wasteful of its real estate if it were maybe 18" x 10" or 12". As it is, there's more room than needed for a single row of pedals (good if you have oversized pedals, I guess), but not quite enough room for two rows or even for a full sized volume or wah pedal. Also, I highly recommend getting the lowest-profile patch cables for the board. I originally got StageMASTER angled cables which are very well made and durable, but the phone plug housings are huge and waste space between pedals, so I got the EBS angle-angle flat cables instead which are perfect. Overall a great product. Very satisfied.

I already had a Pedal Power Plus and a bunch of micro-pedals, so the Dingbat was a natural choice. Ordered it from Sweetwater and it came two days later, thanks to their always-rapid shipping. I had the power supply mounted in less than five minutes; the included brackets fit the pre-drilled holes in the board perfectly. I formerly had a Pedaltrain Nano; the Dingbat is a tad larger read more so I was able to squeeze a couple of extra pedals on. I really prefer the Dingbat's deck-with-slots layout to the rails of the Nano; routing cables was a breeze. The included cable ties and cable tie mounts make it simple to have a clean layout under the board. The board is slightly angled from front to back; that's how they made room for the power supply. (Speaking of which, a nice regulated power supply like the Voodoo beats the hell out of those OneSpot thingies.) That angle also makes volume pedal use much more comfortable whether sitting or standing. All in all, I'm really liking this board and I think it's going to hold up for a long time. Well done, Voodoo Labs. Also, props to Sean Carolan, my sales engineer... he makes buying gear easy!

Great Pedalboard

The Voodoo Lab Dingbat Small Pedalboard is a great pedalboard, perfect if you only use a few pedals or for small gigs where floor space is limited. I was able to place five pedals on it, including four standard sized pedals and one mini pedal. I run a power cable from the power supply out of the right side of the pedalboard to power my CryBaby, which I set on the floor next read more to the pedalboard (I prefer to have my Crybaby on the floor as opposed to mounting it on the pedalboard, so this works out perfectly for me). My Voodoo Lab Power 2 Plus power supply mounted very easily and feels very securely attached, and the board provides easy access to the dip switches on the power supply. You can see an example of this pedalboard/power supply pairing by looking up the Voodoo Lab Item ID: DingBatS2Pl I don't place the velcro strips across the board, but instead I just place the velcro on the pedals and place them on the board, it looks cleaner and you don't have any problem covering the cable routing holes (I hope that makes sense, the velcro is only placed where there's a pedal attached to the board). If you need to switch pedals or move pedals to change your signal path, the velcro comes off the pedal board very cleanly leaving a fresh space for your ensuing pedal mounting. I previously tried a Pedaltrain product, and in my opinion the Voodoo Lab Dingbat is a much nicer product. The Pedaltrain I received had sloppy welds, and if you had to remove the velcro for any reason then the paint came off with the velcro to expose the bare aluminum (not a big deal, but it's unsightly unless you were to paint it again). Also, the mounting brackets that are suppose to be used to mount the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus power supply to the Pedaltrain board covered the heat vents on the power supply, so to me that was another fail for the Pedaltrain product. Anyway, I didn't mean for this to turn into a Pedaltrain product bashing, but for me the Voodoo Lab Dingbat is a superior product to the Pedaltrain. There you have it, I'm extremely pleased with my Voodoo Lab Dingbat Pedalboard, no regrets! If I need to upgrade to a larger board in the future I may try the Friedman line of pedalboards, but for now I'm perfectly happy with the Voodoo Lab board.
