Built like a Tank and works great!
I purchased this as a junction box under my pedalboard. I use one jack for a volume pedal on my Boss MS-3 and the other for an expression pedal on my Boss SY-1. Both pedals live off the board so I wanted the connections to be clean and out of the way. I attached the Dingus under my board with 3m Dual Lock 250/400. It's attached as solidly as if I used screws. Very pleased with… read more the purchase!
Great utility for connectivity, with two caveats
OK three, because it's a bit pricey but: Pros: Very well-made, a solid piece of hardware. I added it to my Voodoolab Dingbat with the PX-8 Plus loop switcher, which is another fantastic device btw. The Dingbat has mounting holes for the Dingus on both sides, so you can pick which works best for you. I play guitar and bass in a cool new band, and I'm going to buy another Dingus… read more for the left side so I can plug both instruments into the pedalboard, and run separate signal paths for each. I love how the Voodoolab sorcerers design their stuff for erector set-like integration. Best pedalboard ever far as I'm concerned. Cons: Two things that could be better about the Dingus. It's a folded metal box, and very solid, but it's got sharp corners on the side where you plug in the instrument. I could easily cut my fingers plugging in, which would really suck at a gig. But easily remedied by filing down those corners. It's a design flaw, no dealbreaker, but just so you know. The other thing is, the supplied machined mounting screws are tiny, and at least on mine they stripped the Dingus screw holes before the mounting was solid. I used slightly bigger screws and it's all fine. On balance, the convenience and quality of construction far outweighs the slight flaws. If y'all are listening, Voodoolab, maybe address these and it'll be perfect.
Nice addition to the boards
This is a nice addition to the Voodoo Labs boards. Quite Frankly I don't know why you wouldn't want one unless you have some type of complicated setup. Just an FYI to everyone, the two mounting screws are small and come in a little piece of thin wrap. Easy to miss. Don't throw them away by accident. I almost did.
Convenient accessory
A simple device that works as advertised and is very well made/heavy duty. For my simple pedal board (dingbat small) it's a bit extravagant for the price, but I like having the guitar input and amp output decoupled from how the pedals are hooked up. And being designed for VoodooLab's pedal boards, it connects easily and firmly.
