Here's the good news: This little bugger is well made, very compact, and I would highly recommend it for most guitars, except super thin ones like an SG. That brings us to the bad news: The cutout in the bottom arms for electric guitar is a little too shallow in my opinion. With the SG being so thin, it doesn't have much wood to rest in the notched part of the stand. As such,… read more if it's not perfectly settled in the stand, the guitar easily slides out and drops. Sorry to say, it has dropped my SG 3 times! If you've got a guitar that's more the thickness of a Tele or thicker, you'll be fine. I've attached two photos of the stand holding my red SG and my black and tan Tele style guitar. It's not a huge visual difference but the SG is not hanging on by much and that has made a big difference in stability. It works great on my acoustic and other electrics, but I bought this stand to go with my SG's gig bag. Live and learn!

I got a blue Sweetwater Exclusive Strat and decked out the pickguard with Spiderman stuff (Spider strat does what a spider strat does) this not only pairs perfectly with it, but holds it securely as well! Love that I can fold it up and put it in my gig bag!
