My new J-200 Coupe
My initial impressions are these: 1. It is beautifully made 2. It sings to me 3. I am in love with my"Watson" - newly named and 4. I made my purchase on a tuesday and by thursday evening he was in my hands, that's sweet!
Almost perfect electric-like acoustic
I looked extensively for an acoustic-electric guitar to use for practice and songwriting that is small enough to avoid banging into things while I reposition myself between notebooks and keyboard, etc., with the same nut width and fretboard radius as my electrics to maintain consistency of feel, and with a decent sound. The physical dimensions of this unusually sized "jumbo junior"… read more are hard to find online; here's what I measure: Overall length 39 3/4"; body length 18 1/2"; body depth 3 3/4"; lower bout width: 14 3/4" in front, and 14 7/8" in back; spacing between outside of E strings 1 7/16"; weight 4 lbs 15 oz. When hanging on a neck strap, the small body made for a pronounced neck dive and the strap button mounted on the heel caused a forward rotation of the guitar until I moved the button to the side of the neck and taped 9 oz of lead fishing weights inside the bottom bout. Given my preferences for the size, perhaps this was almost inevitable. I got what I needed and am glad I found this—almost the only guitar with a 24 3/4" scale length that met my desirables for size and neck characteristics.
