Top value
I have a pricey hand carved jazz box, but Epi comes out to play every day. As your skill develops, you'll get more and more from this guitar. For the buck, this is it. Course, I had to put a bigsby B7 on.
More than a guitar, is a piece of art
I just love this guitar!! everything about this instrument is just perfect, the sound is beautiful, the feel, the looks, specially the looks!! I love how it feels in my body, this is the kind of guitar you not only love playing, you love when you clean it, when you hold it, how it decorates the room where it stands, I love the fact that I can practice on this guitar without even… read more plugging it in an amplifier, the acoustic sound is great for a hollow body, it is perfect for strumming and for everything else, the neck is so comfortable, it feels like another arm, and for the price I can't imagine you can get anything better than this.
Solid Box
My Emperor II was a second, and I saved a few bucks. Really nice guitar. The stock strings suck, but the action is spot on excellent; the finish is perfect. The pickups are a facsimile of the current Gibsons. They sound just fine. The fret ends are smooth and nothing rattles. Made In Indonesia; somebody knows how to build a guitar. How? Whatever, it works. A new instrument… read more tends to be stiff - this one's the same but not too much. After a few months I'll get the local guitar whisperer to work his magic (there's not much). I purchased this axe with the hard case, and it all fits correctly.
My Wife is Impressed and She Hates Guitars
I will give this guitar the highest praise I can give; it makes me feel like a better player. You know how some guitars feel like they fight you when you play? Like neck isn't quite right, the sound just isn't what you want, or something feels off? This is other end of that spectrum. Chords come easy. Every positions sounds good though whatever amp you have. I would say its just… read more me or I got a "good one," but all these review show this is the best hidden gem in the Epiphone arsenal. If you don't own one, you should. Finish: Excellent, I feel like I need a suit to play the thingSound: Jazz to Country with every stop on the wayFeel: Plays like soft butterConclusion: This guitar is exactly as good as all the 5 star reviews say it is.
Great guitar
I was looking for a box with a woody jazz sound; like an ES-175 at a lower cost. The JP Pro II is that guitar for me. It has the sound I was looking for; sounds really good as a stand-alone hollow, and even better thru the amp. The workmanship and overall quality of the guitar amaze me. Excellent value. The guitar delivered out of the box was setup perfectly; no adjustments… read more needed. The JP Pro II has volume knobs that pull up to open the humbuckers for more of a pop sound. I have a Les Paul for that sound; I'm really only interested in the woody jazz sound on this box.
