Not a J-45 but excellent never the less.

I took a chance on this model and I'm glad I did. While it doesn't sound like a J-45 exactly, it does sound fantastic. It plays far above it's price range in my opinion and well worth the price of admission.

Good guitar for the money.

I like the playability and sound. It has a unique neck more like a fat V in my opinion it's quite pronounced! I set the action to my preference(instructions come in the case). I removed the pick guard to enjoy more of the burst finish. For the money you get a quality solid wood guitar. The difference between this and a high end Gibson is the fit and finish. Very small things inside read more like a lot of glue or the cuts of the bridge and fret material are of standard grade. That being said the finish on this epiphone is very durable. I wanted a j45 in my collection and this guitar has me satisfied for the time being. It holds its own with my taylor 414 and Martin d28. I would rate this head and shoulders above lower priced epiphone acoustics I've had in the past. This is a great player guitar for someone with a finer collection.

The Best Epiphone J45

This version of the Epiphone J45 is, hands down, the best version from the modern offerings. The neck is thicker, but comfortable. The sound is great and the LR Baggs gives a good representation of the sound of this acoustic guitar. And the Vermillion Burst color looks good in any light. The Inspired by Gibson model Epiphone guitars are all decent models. This Slash model takes read more everything up a notch.

Epiphone Quality

Quality built fit to finish. This guitar will not disappoint. It not only delivers but exceeds what you expect from a quality built instrument at this price point. The sound quality and finish are amazing. With only one minor tweak and a small upgrade this guitar will deliver all the goods expected. First, the one minor tweak was adjusting the neck to dail the guitar in. And the read more minor upgrade came in the form of replacing the plastic bridge pins. I strongly recommend replacing them with tusk to maximize the tone quality. As far as the neck goes, it's not slim but it does feel comfortable in your hand, and mind you I like slim necks but this does not feel bad at all. Overall Epiphone hit it out of the park with the Slash J45. I strongly recommend one before the price point goes up again.
