Fender Guitar

I like this guitar. Great action straight out of the box. This guitar is setup with acoustic guitar strings so switching to this slim body guitar was a little easier coming from a standard body acoustic guitar. I've had this guitar for about 1 week and I already find myself playing my guitar further up the neck.

Love it….no longer have to swap guitars between songs. Light weight, so its easy on the shoulder for a 4 hour gig. Using it with a Boss 500 pedal. Crisp clean when you want it and nasty with a punch when you need it to be so.

the micro tilt neck works! adjust the action and you dont need to work on the saddle. the 6 tones are enuf for me and 9 volt battery is better imho. the neck is smaller than an acoustic and has taken some getting used to but it sure is easy to play. one small detail thats nice are the rosewood knobs. 3 piece body but they matched them so well you almost cant see the joints. 10 stars read more for the guitar and sweetwater.

Fender acoustasonic player telecaster

So, i am mainly an electric guitar player with an ever changing palate of tone, constantly swapping pedals. My current rig has an acoustic simulator pedal that splits off to an acoustic amp (meaning i have to take 2 amps). Never being really happy with the acoustic sound but it worked. Then i landed a couple solo acoustic gigs and all i had was a 12 string acoustic electric that read more sounds really good but is limited on what i can do because I incorporated a loop pedal in my rig to lay down some chords and play lead over top. Then came the player series acoustasonic…. And first i must give a shout out to Paul at sweetwater. He has been my guy for quite a long time and really helped me through this process. Back to the guitar. When i unboxed it, first, the gig bag is pretty awesome. They put alot of thought into this. Padding, neck support, pockets and straps etc. then when I opened it up, there it was in real life. I have watched every review and looked at so many pics. It is a beautiful instrument!! It is pretty flawless. Once I started playing it, I could not stop. A perfect tool for what i want to do. Once you figure out the sweet spots with the blend knob, you have some really nice acoustic and electric tones and i really found myself not using a lot of pedals. Will it replace my electric guitars? No. But like i said it is a great tool to have

There are uses for this guitar

Hi gang … this is a tough review for me , because I'm still not sure what to think about this guitar. I have seen many bash it , saying it is not a real good acoustic or a real good electric . Just an okay acoustic & an okay electric. I have actually seen guys use this guitar for an entire show. It's all in your sound (amp / pedals / eq). I am ready to retire my Gibson jumbo read more from stage play & I was looking for something smaller for the stage. I am currently using this as an acoustic only at practice & on stage. The best reason I can give you for owning this guitar is for live band play. For example , if you're doing a song like Behind Blues Eyes , in a full band setting , just using a regular acoustic guitar may not cut through the mix in louder / heavier songs. Especially , if you have a heavy handed drummer & some of you know what I mean. This will easily do that & you don't have to worry about feeding back. I personally prefer the middle acoustic setting , but you may have to tweak the sound with your amp , any pedals & equalizer. I play mine through a Fender Acoustisonic amp & Fishman equalizer & it sounds pretty dang good , though I'm still tweaking. Also , the width of the neck is like an electric , not an acoustic. So , if you have fat fingers , this may not be for you. I put acoustic strings (11's) on mine & had the Sweetwater luthiers set the action nice & low . Mine is perfectly intonated & the action plays like an electric all the way down the fretboard. I can tell you there was no way I was forking out the cost for the American version , but this version I can stomach. And some may want to wait & see if Squier will ever put out an even more affordable version. So , while it's uses may be limited , this guitar is crafted very well, stays in tune & plays real nice. Shout out to my rep Cody Kraus & the Sweetwater luthiers !

I am really impressed with this MIM Acoustasonic Player Tele. Great sounds, light weight, and excellent quality. Aaron at Sweetwater was extremely helpful, and the setup was excellent right out of the box. Just a heads up for anyone who owns one. When the battery starts to fail, if you have it plugged into an amp, it will start to sound like nails on a chalk board or a dial up modem! read more It's not the cable or the amp. Just change the battery. Aside from that little quirk, this is a great all around instrument. Enjoy.

Awesome!!

Purchased this for the acoustic sound with easier playability. I have not been disappointed at all. Play it several times a week at church. Love playing this guitar!!

Best Hybrid but Still a Hybrid

JD

I've owned every kind of hybrid made and this one has them beat…but it's still a hybrid. Never really going to sound like an acoustic or an electric. All Im looking for is one decent acoustic sound and one electric for gigging with one guitar. After a couple weeks Im getting there. One trick is to roll back the volume, don't max it out. I don't care for the crunch tones, not my read more thing. I would have liked it better with 3 settings and a tone knob. The build is very nice, love the neck. Gig bag is well padded but the zipper should go further down the side…if you buy one you'll see what i mean.

Love this guitar. Small, light weight, and extremely versatile. Very simple to use. Great sounds. Really a lot of fun to play.

I think you'll like it!

The guitar sounds great, plays smoothly and was set up very nearly perfectly from the factory. I am a church musician and this Acoustasonic Tele is perfect for what I do. It truly sounds like an acoustic guitar and even with lower gauge strings (10-47, because those are closer to what I use on mu electric guitars) it still sounds rich and sustains marvelously. if you want a lightweight, read more versatile, great sounding guitar, the try Player Acoustasonic Telecaster. Don't forget to unplug the cable from the guitar when you aren't playing, you will probably have to put a new battery in when you pick it up again. I would love to see this guitar in a rechargeable version.

What I was looking for

Just bought this and have already put it into action. I mostly play in an acoustic duo and play 3-4 hour gigs. This guitar is very light and with the 11 gauge strings is so much easier to play for long stretches. The neck is very comfortable and obviously feels like home (as a 40 year Fender player). Absolutely no feedback issues and the set up from Sweetwater was spot on. read more Everything about the guitar is great including the sounds. Love the fact that I can blend sounds or even go full electric with some excellent Tele sounds. I run it straight into a DI box through the PA. Also love the fact that it has a micro tilt neck adjustment if I would need it to adjust the action. Gig bag was also very nice and heavy duty. Couldn't see myself buying the 2K model as a weekend warrior, but as soon as this came out, boom, bought it that day.

Worth the money.

Came promptly, well packaged and in perfect condition. Fit and finish are excellent and comparable with a player series Stratocaster. Intonation is excellent, set up is good, very lightweight and well balanced, love the silky neck finish - very fast, the nut is well fashioned and glides the strings well without any lube. The small body resonates better than I expected and sustain read more is very good. I was going to opt for the made in USA acoustasonic because I prefer an ebony board but the rosewood is excellent. My only criticism (which is why I dropped a star) is the fret edges are not rolled, they are not sharp but are distracting to me personally. This is very similar to how my MIM Strat was. I rolled them myself and that plays beautifully now, so it's not a big deal for me. Very happy and I would purchase again.
