Over the past few years I've been downsizing my equipment and I needed a little combo amp for my bedroom. I called my sales rep Aaron here at Sweetwater and asked him if he had listened to the Blackstar Fly mini combo amp and he told me he not only liked it but owns one as well. I asked several questions because I play bass and I wanted to be sure if this three inch speaker could… read more handle the low frequencies of a bass. He shared his honest opinion about this amp and afterwards I pulled the plug and ordered one. Upon receiving it I couldn't believe how small it was. I unboxed it and loved the neon blue color to it. More importantly, once plugged I was amazed by the sound and tone this mini combo amp was able to reproduce. I was surprised when listening to how well it sounded no matter how I played my bass. It articulates so well whether you're playing finger style, slap, chords or harmonics it all sounds wonderfully amazing for a 3 inch speaker. Granted it doesn't have the earth shaking low end that a full size amp would have however it does articulate very clearly and will surprise you when played. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a very small practice combo amp for anywhere in your home or even on the road in a hotel. Thanks for the recommendation Aaron this Fly Amp really surprised me!
