Love it! Clamps very quickly and securely and holds more than just mandolins. Once you've tightened the knob, it stays exactly where it's put, and it's easily and quickly adjusted up or down. The rugged, non-marring mechanism inspires confidence, and the standoff distance is just right for a deep-bodied uke or a tenor guitar. The cradle also accommodates fiddles, banjos, mandolins… read more and even my heavy solidbody bass uke. The box claims ten pounds capacity, but I suspect double that wouldn't strain this thing in the least, so long as the stand you attach it to can support the weight without tipping. I'd recommend pointing the cradle in the same direction as one of the legs, if you're using this with a tripod stand and anything much heavier than a ukelele. It's always a good idea to keep any stand's center of gravity on the low side, which brings me to my one tiny niggle; the clamp's maximum aperture is 1.3 inches. That means you can't clamp it to the bottom portion of an Atlas-style stand or the lowest portion of a telescoping Tama cymbal stand. It would be far more versatile if the maximum opening were 1.6 inches or so, to allow for use with heavier mic stands, though I guess that could make it a tad slower to attach. Nonetheless, this little doohickey is unbeatable in its price range, and I will be buying more.
