Beautiful guitar, beautiful tone

I fell in love with my guitar while browsing through Sweetwater's guitar gallery. I've never played a hummingbird before so my purchase was purely based on watching and reading a bunch of reviews. Having played many acoustics and electrics (but no hummingbird) I know that I would either like it or hate it. the looks convinced me to make the leap anyway.. glad I did. Pros: - beautiful read more guitar, a work of art. Appreciate it more knowing that it was hand made (for most parts) - beautiful tone.. thundering lows and bright crisp highs. You can feel the thump of the lows in your heart. - very easy to play. Action was perfect out of the box. Cons: - for a guitar at this price point, I was expecting a more rolled and smooth fretboard edge. It's comfortable for most frets, but the first fret was a bit squared. There are no sharp edges both on the fret ends as well as on the fret board, but I was expecting a smoother more rolled fretboard. Buying experience: superb as always.. love that I could see the actual guitar instead of some stick photo. Aaron Regenold answered all my questions and helped me get my guitar delivered in 2 days.

My guitar arrived perfectly set up with my choice of strings. It is absolutely beautiful. This is my first Gibson and because of covid and availability I could not play one before I ordered. The sound is an even blend of low, mid and high. The body is not as wide as a standard hummingbird and that is another thing I liked. The electronics sound great as well. I am very happy with read more my purchase and would recommend to all.

Perfect For Anyone

I absolutely love this guitar. It was designed with a great deal of respect for the comfort of its user. If you enjoy playing guitar or even if you're some famous person reading this review, I highly encourage you to pick this guitar up and at least try it. Make sure it's in tune please before you dismiss it as being poorly manufactured. A clip on tuner is inexpensive and fits in read more your pocket if you don't want to ask for help. Gibson is making some of the best guitars it ever has right now. The slightly thinner body is noticeably more comfortable and easier on my strumming arm. The shorter scale length requires less string tension and due to the shorter distance between frets it's easier to play. The setup is phenomenal due to the plek treatment. The action is almost effortless. The neck profile is among the best I have ever felt on any guitar. There was considerable time spent making this instrument comfortable and it shows. Make no mistake, this guitar sounds really, really good. I didn't buy it to play it plugged in, but it sounds great through my amp. It has a cool sound through a tube screamer mini surprisingly. Tone preference is highly subjective and personal, but Gibson hasn't sacrificed sound quality in the name of comfort, I can assure you of that. I commend them for utilizing walnut, a sustainable tonewood for the construction of the guitar's fretboard, back, and sides. There is a simple natural beauty that is quite elegantly presented due to the contrast of the mahogany and walnut at the neck joint. The walnut burst is also quite attractive against the 2 ply binding and tortoise shell pickguard. The parallelogram mother of pearl inlays on the fretboard are way cooler than dots. Sorry. I sincerely hope that as someone who enjoys playing guitar that you will give this instrument a chance on it's own merits. There are a few toxic individuals out there are who insist on polluting the internet with the garbage notion that this is not a real hummingbird. Please just stop. It's perfectly clear to most people that the absence of an illustrated pickguard and the word studio on the truss rod cover are dead giveaways that it is not attempting to sell itself as something that it is not. The notion that a company would willingly employ the same exact people to manufacture an instrument (the hummingbird) and (the hummingbird studio) to both honor and subsequently disrespect it's own legacy is idiotic at best. I can only hope that you are willing to at least give yourself the chance to discover a wonderful guitar by reading this. I can also hope someone will give me a job writing reviews maybe. Who knows? Who cares? Go play one! You deserve it! I would sincerely like to thank the staff at Sweetwater for making this purchase possible. You are exceptionally accommodating and committed to providing a level of customer service unequaled by your competition. You sold me this instrument at an unbelievable price and I will never buy from anyone else for any reason.
