Better than expected

This guitar is flawless in making. The action a little high. Can be adjusted with tool provided. I tuned it once and it stayed in tune with very minor adjustments for several days. My tele can't stay tuned for more than a few minutes. Amazing value!

This Parlor oozes Blues

Finally got my Gin Rickey and I'm so glad I waited. This parlor just wants to rip up some blues. Set up out of box Is great. She's beautiful with that cool sharp vintage look. Gretsch hit it out of the park with this little blues box. I tuned to open E plugged in to my little tube amp and let her fly. Gonna do a lot with this guitar. A "Period Perfect" Blues Guitar

I love the Gin Rickey and it's predecessor,the Jim Dandy. They are based on another reasonably priced 12 fret short scale parlor guitar, the Gretsch Rex, popular during the 1930s to the 1950s. They are part of Gretsch's Roots Collection. I own both instruments. I am studying blues guitar and this instrument fits the feel of that music perfectly. (I am studying Griff Hamlin's courses within his Blues Guitar Unleashed courses.) I became sufficiently interested in older blues pieces that I realize I will be studying "alternate tunings" which are common in blues. I love the feel of the Jim Dandy so much and wanted to avoid having to retune frequently that I bought the Gin Rickey. The price of these guitars is so reasonable that it.makes it easy to say "yes" to buying them. I took the Gin Rickey out of the box when it arrived, tuned it up and started playing it. It has an identical feel to the other guitar. These instruments feel totally "at home" in your hands. There is a sense of perfect fit between your hands and body with these guitars, a feeling of "oneness" with them as you play. Nothing about them feels awkward, or "in the way". I have purchased both instruments from Ruben and have had wonderful experience both times. He is extremely helpful and expedited my order, made on a Thursday and received on early Saturday afternoon in Long Island NY. These instruments are the perfect first instrument for people just learning. The price is reasonable and they have a low action and are easy to play. The strings are very easy and intuitive to change. I definitely recommend this instrument and Sweetwater!
