I'm by no means an expert on guitar stands but of the 8 I have owned over the years this is my most trusted. Doesn't damage or mark my guitars and keeps them secure. The foam padding keeps them from moving around too much. Works well with Es 175, dreadnaughts, les pauls, tele's, and I'm sure most other 'normal' symmetrical shaped guitars. Despite not being built like the other neck holding stands this thing is very stable. I’ve got a knock off p bass that this thing locks in. No wobble. Also a violin bass that makes it very versatile. If in doubt, do not. It is functional, plus a built in hinge makes it compact as well.
