Guild F55E Maple

It took a bit over a year to receive my Guild F55E Maple, but the wait was worth it. The instrument is beautiful, plays and sounds amazing. I have had a Guild D-50 since 1975, but I have always wanted a Guild Jumbo. This instrument does not disappoint. Also sounds great plugged in. The service from Sweetwater was excellent, and they kept me apprised of the wait. Larry Reed and Natasha read more Berning gave me excellent service.

This guitar has it all: looks, build quality, and playability. Guild didn't skimp on a single thing when they built this thing. This beautiful blonde jumbo just exudes pure craftsmanship and beauty. And if that wasn't enough, this thing plays almost as easy as any electric guitar. It comes set up perfectly from the Guild factory; no need to get it done after you receive it. read more The second I had the chance I put this sucker in Open C#... and man does it sing. The low end is incredible, and almost reminds you of low key hits on a grand piano. And even still, the highs are still absolutely bursting. This guitar has an incredible amount of power... you'll notice almost immediately how much volume this thing has compared to any given dread. Any yet it is still able to play low-key lullabies to you when you're quietly playing on the couch at night. It truly is the best guitar I've ever played, and I've played quite a few models. If you're on the fence... just do it. You will absolutely not be disappointed. This guitar is worth every penny.

This guitar gives you the best of both worlds, the resonant bass of a jumbo guitar with the succinct brightness of a maple body with a spruce top. The arch flamed maple back was constructed from the original Guild press from 1985 that was resurrected for the new manufacturing shop in California. Visually, this guitar is stunning and has the sound to match. Strumming produces lush read more volume and picking provides clean notes. I have yet to amplify this guitar and am looking forward to my new acoustic amp from Sweetwater to check it out but the acoustic tone is so wonderful unplugged I'm enjoying getting to know the guitar that way at the moment. The hardware is all top notch, the Gotoh tuners are smooth and responsive, the fretboard inlays are gorgeous and the flamed maple grain is stunning. The jumbo body sits well and the neck is very comfortable in the hand. All in all a joy to behold as well as play!

I have owned many fine guitars in the past and currently own a beutiful Bourgeios and a McPherson Sable. I received my F55e Maple last week and all I can say is WOW! As much as I love my other guitars (which are amazing) the Guild is the one I want to play. I can't put it down! I got the setup from Sweetwater and told them I wanted the action as low as possible. It arrived perfectly read more set-up. It sounds terrific and I would put it up against any Martin dreadnaught. I can't say enough about it. Also, kudos to Patrick for the amazing customer service!

Just got my Guild F55e today. I am super impressed with the setup that Sweetwater did and the guitar is amazing! I have always been a Guild fan and this guitar sounds so good! The Fishman pickup system was adjusted perfectly and is super responsive! The workmanship is stellar inside and out!
