Beautiful, full sound in small size
I purchased my M 25E in April after having a D 20 E since 2017. I was intrigued to get the solid mahogany tones in a concert series guitar, and this beauty did not disappoint! The California burst is a beautiful finish, and the tone is so well balanced and requires basically zero EQ adjusting through a system. I expected to get significantly less low end compared to my dreadnought,… read more but that really isn't the case. I look forward to this perfect instrument seasoning well throughout many years to come. Guild strikes again!
Incredible value
The attention to detail, craftsmanship, and overall quality of this guitar far exceeded my expectations. Sounds huge for it's size and has a nice punchy character and great clarity. Can't wait to see what the future holds for Guild California!
More Than Intriguing
Though the online reviews and demos intrigued me, I was hesitant at first to buy this guitar. I have a Martin D-18 and a Taylor KCE 310, and I was unsure if a smaller-bodied guitar would deliver the nuanced sound I desire. I bought it a year ago, waiting with fervent anticipation for its arrival. It became immediately evident that this guitar has a distinct, winning personality.… read more While it may not have the boomy low-end of a dreadnaught, it has a sexy, bluesy swagger all its own, delivering a balanced sound and well-articulated notes, chords, and intervals. I employ a hybrid picking technique, and this guitar responds brilliantly to both flat-picked and fingerpicked passages. And the LR Baggs Element pickup captures the acoustic tone well. I couldn't be happier. While I still dig the Martin and the Taylor, the Guild M-25E is a welcomed addition.
LOVE this little Guild!
I've been comparison shopping for a small body mahogany acoustic-electric and finally picked this one. And am thrilled with it. It is absolutely gorgeous, sounds great, is easy to play, and is very comfortable to hold. This will quickly become my go-to guitar. Stays in tune well, and the tuners look and feel great. The pickup is nice, with no "quack", and simple to use. Sounds… read more really deep and resonant through my acoustic amp, like it's a much bigger guitar. My only complaint is that the battery is located inside the body, so you have to loosen the strings to access it. I got this mostly for fingerpicking, but it handles pretty heavy strumming with ease and maintains great tone. I consider it a great value overall. Hope to play it every day for all styles of music!
Great Small Bodied Guitar
The M-25 is a great new take on the classic M-20 from Guild. The look is fantastic, gloss nitro top with with a more subtle "California Burst." I've owned an M-20 and M-120 and keep coming back to Guild's small bodied guitars. The projection and tone is far better than what the size would suggest. Great all mahogany addition.
