A pretty good indicator of a quality pick

I'm a late life beginner guitarist that favors medium gauge picks. Saw one of my all-time favorite bands last night and again tonight here in Ohio. Yes, I'm a boomer and the band that still gets my blood going is The Cult. Both shows proved those guys can still perform, albeit with a shorter set list and not quite the same range and stamina vocally. To be expected. But Billy? Nothing read more missing from his game. The guy is a legit rock star and a pro. At the end of the gig tonight I was fortunate to give him a fist bump and thank him for the effort and quality of his performance. He handed me this: Good enough for Billy, good enough for me!

After using these picks a few weeks. the only picks I will use, far as the flex 50's or 75's. I tend too use the 50's the most on electric or acoustic, just too clarify the 50's are .65mm and the 75's are 1.01mm. I have often wondered where this heavy pick hype came from. Eddie Van Halen used a nylon .60mm, Neil Young Herco 50, David Gilmour and Jimmy Page Herco 75, Jimmi Hendrix read more and SRV fender mediums and they all used lighter gauge strings as well, SRV did use 11's a lot and 10's I think I'll listen too the professionals and ignore all the YouTube and blog hype, that you have too use a pick that is as thick as a 2"x4" too be a good guitar player. I like a little bit of flex in a pick and with the 75's you get the thicker pick feel with a little flex, now I won't use any other style picks, personal choice and my wife just bought me more for Christmas. Thanks again Sweetwater.

Might be my new favorite picks 50 and 75

I've used many picks over the last few years tortex mostly .50-1.14mm, Fender: light-heavy. I started out with the Dunlop nylon max grip .60mm then .88 nylon for awhile, over the last year, I've probably bought $200 worth of picks from Sweetwater. I got the Herco 50 and 75 today, I wasn't going too open then been using the .88 and 1.0 tortex. I thought what the heck so I compared read more them too fender celliod,light-heavy tortex .50-1.0 and nylon max grip .60 and.73mm. The Herco 50 and 75's were the winners, great tone and flexibility, they seem just right, love them. Will they replace my EJ jazz 3's or jazz 3xl's ? Maybe or maybe not, but they will get on the strings a lot. I ordered 2 more packs of each. Thanks again Sweetwater.

Great Beginner Picks

As a beginner/intermediate guitar player I have experimented with many picks and I always go back to the Herco Flex 50 picks. Perfect grip, not to stiff, and just enough flex for softer strumming or you can do your heavy handed strums with these as well. I use an acoustic so I can't attest to how they work on electrics but for me I give these an A ++.

Nice pick for different tones

First off I have used every kind of pick there is and every material. First it was Dunlop Nylon picks then it was celluloid picks then I switched to acetal and have have stayed there for the past 10 years. These picks are by far the best nylon picks there are. They give you a darker tone and a fast release on the string. Also the grip is nice and can also be used as a picking surface read more to get an interesting pick attack. These would be great for getting different textures tonally in the recording studio. Clayton Acetal picks are by far my favorite still because they don"t wear down as fast and have a bit more attack. But these are my favorite nylon picks by far these are the best. Of coarse it"s hard to argue with the pros who have used this pick, Billy Duffy, Johnny Thunders, and Tom Johnston. Not something I would use all the time but great picks! I recommend these to anyone who wants a nylon pick with a warm tone.
