Headstock strap tie
I bought this for my Blueridge BR340 gospel model acoustic guitar. It didn't come with a strap button on the heel of the neck. So I bought this Martin headstock strap tie. This thing is great. Looks good too. I had a little bit of a hard time connecting it with the strap. Just took a few moments to figure out. Get one of these. Don't drill a hole in your guitar
Nice tie
I did not want to drill a hole in the neck heel of my Guild D20e. I used a shoestring to attach my strap to my Guild headstock. Then While looking on Sweetwater I found the Martin guitar strap headstock tie. This is far better than a shoestring! Thanks Sweetwater for helping me make my Guild D20e look better by doing away with a gaudy looking shoestring.
Three (3) ways to attach the Headstock Strap
I prefer using the headstock (nut) strap to tying my guitar strap to the guitar with chord. There are three ways you can use the nut strap to attach the guitar strap to your guitar. If you have a thin leather guitar strap you can attach the nut strap to the guitar first, then fasten the guitar strap to the top of the exposed button on the nut strap. A better way (especially… read more with a little thicker guitar strap) is to attach the guitar strap to the button of the nut strap first, then thread the nut strap around the guitar, under the strings and fasten it. This sandwiches the guitar strap on the button between the two ends of the nut strap. An excellent video of this method is on YouTube by Fretfunk. If you have a really thick guitar strap (like the Martin Rolled Leather strap) it may be too thick to easily get over the button. In that case thread the end of the nut strap without the button through the slot on the guitar strap, then thread the loose end of the nut strap under the strings and button the nut strap together. I prefer the button on the bottom of the headstock using this method.
