Wrong physical dimensions listed!
Ordered this cab to compliment my Blackstar Soloist 60 amp which is the same physical size as this cabs listed specs........the listed specs are way bigger then the physical size of this cab. Was hoping to match my amps size. Too small cab. Blackstar must of messed up with technical specs for this cab. Had to send it back, but it did sound great coupled to my amp...........the… read more search continues!
Blackstar Ext. Cab
Exactly the sound I was looking for. Paired with my HT5 Combo it fills my music room with the sweetest over-driven tone you could ask for. Really extends the versatility of my amp.
No Conflicts....
Just wanted to try and balance the rating average and clear up confusion. There is no conflict on the Blackstar website, their description matches Sweetwater's. I think Mark from Canton was reading the Venue Series (HTV112 rather than HT112) specs. Regardless, the review rating shouldn't suffer because of a possible miscommunication. Review the product not some extraneous issue.… read more Sweetwater is very easy deal with and will clear up any questions you have quickly and professionally.
Excellent Cabinet for Blackstar HT5 Head
I purchased this cabinet to go with the Blackstar HT5 head and it seems to be a perfect match. It has the 50 watt Blackbird speaker which easily handles the 5 watt output from the amp. The speaker works well with any of the guitars I have had plugged into the amp (70's Gibson LP with mini-humbuckers, D'Angelico thin-body with humbuckers, recent Epiphone LP with Probuckers and… read more an old Fender Squire Vintage Modified with a combination of a humbucker and a single coil pickup). The low and mid range are full and the higher frequencies are crisp. I haven't tried the cabinet with the back partially removed. With the back completely closed, it doesn't sound the least bit "boxy," which small cabinets tend to do. I removed the back panel secured with velcro and it is snugly attached. The cabinet itself appears to be made of MDF or something similar, however it is pretty light. The "tolex" was applied in one piece with a seam on the bottom and is practically invisible. The cabinet looks great and appears very solid. The amp and cabinet are my first Blackstar products and I'd say they are well worth the price.
Conflicting specs....
I'm rather confused, the Blackstar website states and shows this cabinet is loaded with a Celestian Seventy 80 speaker. But several online retailers state and show it comes with the Blackbird 50 speaker. Currently, I do not own this cabinet; but I'm in the market for a single 12" guitar cab. Discrepancies like this can either make the choice easier, or make the choice harder....
