Good instrument for this price range.
Sweetwater is the best online music store. Their level of customer service is superior even to what's offered in person at local Guitar Centers around here. Luke Herrian is great, both professional and attentive. The Ibanez is a good no frills guitar. If anything one could spend a bit more and go with the Martin Road Series, but for this price you're getting a spruce top, a very… read more comfortable neck, and a generally well constructed guitar. The finish is minimal as is obvious in the description. I'll change the strings and do some tweaking of the neck and intonation, but right out of the box it played decently. Ibanez is trying some new designs and builds for acoustics in this price range and they're making some nice instruments.
Excellent guitar for the money
Had been looking for a while for a second guitar and have tried a bunch including Martins and Taylors among others. Decided to give this one a shot and have not been disappointed. I play fingerstyle and this guitar fits my requirements perfectly. The concert hall size body projects well with good balance. This guitar has a slightly larger body than a normal concert hall so you… read more get a little more bass out of it. The spruce/okoume combo give it a nice rounded tone. Build quality is good and I really like the tuners. The electronics seem to be high quality but since I never use them, I can't speak to that. Only other things to note are that there are no inlays on the neck so if you're in to that, this guitar will appear pretty plain jane. Also, the neck is little wider at the nut (1.77) which I like but some others may not. So, overall I think this is an excellent guitar for the price, particularly if you play fingerstyle as it is set up nicely for that. And finally, as with all things involving guitars and people, your mileage may vary...
