Almost a 5

I"ve only had this ukulele for a few weeks, but so far I"m very satisfied with the build quality, the perfect mat finish and warm sound. The size of the baritone ukulele makes it a perfect traveling companion when I don"t feel like lugging around a full size guitar. My only complaint would be the frets. There was a very rough/sticky feel when fretting and bending the strings. read more Initially I thought it was the walnut fret board but on closer inspection I discovered the frets had some sort of clear coat on them causing the rough feel. I assume that whatever finish they used on the fretboard was applied right over the frets as well. After a few minutes of scraping the clear coat off and smoothing them down with 400/600 grit sandpaper, all is now smooth and working well. If not for this problem I would have given it a 5 star rating.

I have a kala and decided to upgrade, this one feels great and sounds great! It has a sharper tone and good bass too. The fret sides are nice! It is the same size wise to the kala just a nicer finish and has slight different sound. I love it!
