The solution for an acoustic bass!
Man what a great little bass! Ive had acoustic basses before, however I found they were always so way too big. They dont travel well and they sound ok. I got a resonator bass which is slightly smaller and sounds excellent but it is somewhat fragile and still has to use a big acoustic bass case to travel with. I was looking for an acoustic bass I wouldnt mind beating up, getting… read more sand from the beach on, smoke from a campfire, and also having the piezo acoustic sound for recording occasionally. Man this thing hits the mark! Its a perfect small size for my big hands, the smaller uke basses were just too small for me and I could never get used to the rubbery strings. I like how the body joins at the 15th fret to give you more access, but there is no cutaway which keeps the sound nice and full. It uses the D'addario strings with the nylon core and bronze wrap which gives it the feel of a classical guitar at times (on the high G string) but nice attack for the lower strings, awesome. The fishman preamp is great, you get a tuner and Bass/Treble controls instead of just a tone knob like some other uke basses. You also get a phase switch. The acoustic sound is deep and rich and the direct signal is great too. I like how they put grown up sized machine head tuners on this one as well. Comes with 2 strap buttons, which should be standard but sometimes they are not. Binding on the body and neck with the figured body woods looks great, what a killer deal. Great value in this bass. It came setup perfectly from Sweetwater, I can slap on it, I can play fingers, I can tap on it. It will stay in my collection for a long time.
