It's Just Okay
This ukulele looks much nicer in the pics than it does in person. The pics look beautiful and look like a nice wood grain. It's actually a very obvious piece of laminate that looks more like a printout than an actual veneer. The binding looks good but the soundhole ring decor looks like it's also a printout. It's foggy looking and is definitely not an inlay. The fingerboard looks… read more very dark in the pictures, but mine is quite light and looks to be very dried out. The moon phase inlays are almost impossible to see since there is very little contrast against the light fingerboard. I'll try to oil it and see if it doesn't improve. The bridge and nut material seem to be okay. No flaws that i can see. The tuners work well and it holds a tune well. My particular uke is quite overwound with excess string. Strange that that the factory wouldn't string it better. As for the sound..... well, it's a bit quiet compared to my Luna Soprano uke. I have to strum hard to get a loud sound out of it. Maybe over time it will "open up". I'm strongly considering returning it.Overall i have to say that I'm quite disappointed in this ukulele. I really wanted to like it, but i just can't fool myself into doing so. I love the Luna brand and have never been disappointed in the past. This one just doesn't do it for me.
