This guitar is so beautiful, and it plays like a dream. My husband put some black beauties on it and I love it even more. It is lightweight and perfect!

Good Entry Level Guitar

Purchased for my 13 yo son at GearFest 2019. Had the features he wanted (cutout, acoustic-electric) and is a very pretty guitar to look at. I agree with the other reviewer that the color is not as shown, more light brown tones, not the yellow/orange tones in the photo. The entire body appears to be laminated. On to the meat... We have had this guitar for about a month and a half. read more My son didn't make any adjustments, nor would I expect him to at this stage of his playing, no issues with the frets or height of the strings that I know of. It doesn't quite hold tune from day to day, but this could be the newness of the strings. The intonation at the higher frets isn't perfect, nor would I expect it to be on a guitar at this price. The tone is clear and somewhat bright. The tone on the preamp output is more mellow and does a good job of picking up all the low tones. When recording, I tried "double tracking" the acoustic sound with the electric pickup with very nice results, however tapping on the body of the guitar can result in digital clipping in the DAW. Also during the recording process we noticed a high pitched ringing and we tracked it down to the strings above the nut. Not being a guitarist, I'm not sure how to fix this. In the mean time he is resorting to stuffing a piece of cloth under the strings. The electronics have a cheap fit and feel, but are functional. The panel for the preamp doesn't latch tightly, the "snap" isn't very positive. Once a few weeks ago the battery holder popped open on the inside and fell into the body of the guitar. It's possible it didn't get fully latched; it hasn't done it since. The fit wouldn't be acceptable on a higher priced guitar though. The 1/4" jack is not good. Something in the interior of the jack results in a difficult plug insertion/extraction since new. There is also a fair amount of "wobble". Tightening the nut eliminated some of the play/spinning of the jack but doesn't get rid of the wobble. A couple weeks a got he went to play a "gig" and couldn't get any output. The next day I took a look (from the outside, otherwise I would have had to take off the strings) and I noticed that I could get sound if I pulled the plug out 1/8"-1/4". After futzing with it for 20-30 minutes I was able to get sound with the plug fully inserted. It's possible that the core of the plug/contact is sliding in/out with use. When he replaces the strings I will definitely replace this jack. Had this been a higher priced guitar, I would have returned it.

Nice guitar for the price, but not as shown

This guitar is a good value for the money - good sound and playability without paying an arm and a leg. The workmanship on it is pretty much without flaws and all appears to be of good quality. But what I received differed from the photo in that the top is not bright as shown, but brown, just a bit lighter than the back of the guitar as shown in the photo. The nut and bridge read more saddle are black, not white as shown in the photos. But it is still a strikingly good-looking guitar. I deducted a half star, though, for not matching the pictures in the general color. I sanded down some sharp fret edges top and bottom, on the higher part of the neck, but they were not so bad that they would not have worn down with some playing time. I adjusted the truss rod only slightly, to bring the action down to 2mm (0.08 inches) on the high E string at the 12th fret. It's a good sounding guitar and easy to play. I also moved the neck strap button from the heel cap - this guitar tends to tilt away from you in this position - to the bottom side of the heel at about a 45 degree angle, matching the position on other acoustic guitars I play. This holds the guitar in to your body and for me is the most comfortable. The electronics are OK but the high E string sound was much more pronounced and louder than the other strings. This can be somewhat adjusted for in the on-board equalizer but since I don't plan to amplify this guitar regularly it's not a big problem for me. If you want a good-looking guitar that's easy to play and that sounds good, and that is affordable, this one may be a good choice for you.
