Great ukulele, great price
Bought this for my daughter who is learning to play. The ukulele is very well constructed, and it sounds great. She loves playing it, says it’s more comfortable than the one she had before. And I can attest that it sounds great too!
Wonderful ukulele
I've had this uke for 2 days now, and I just love it. The sound is that ukulele sound of the islands. It just has that look of Hawaii. The wood is beautiful and the abalone just adds to it's beauty. Great soprano sound. Anyone looking for a beautiful and great sounding soprano, and for the price....this one is it! You will not be disappointed.
First ukulele
It"s so cute and sounds really nice! Wish it had a screw so that I could use a strap but overall it"s a great beginner ukulele!
Ordered based on looks
I purchased my Luna High Tide Exotic Mahogany Soprano Ukulele A/E about a week ago now. I bought it based on it's looks without trying it out first. I have a few other Ukulele's one of which are a Luna as well. So I felt comfortable purchasing another Luna. Before purchasing I tried to do some online research on this particular Uke but had a hard time finding any reviews. So if… read more you are looking at this Uke and are interest in purchasing it, here is my review: First of all the pictures look great! Upon receipt of the Uke, it matches the pictures perfectly. It is a very pretty Ukulele. The other Luna Uke that I own is a Concert sized tattoo Ukulele. I do feel that the build quality on both are very similar. They are both fine instruments. I am not sure what is up with the painted/stained on line running across the bottom and up the backside of the instrument. It is totally unnecessary and with it being painted on or stained on frankly looks kind of silly. Sound quality is good, volume is good, resonant instrument, and good sustain. One of the things that really attracted me to this Uke was the fret markers. I still like them, the are very pretty, not distracting when I play, and I do not feel them when I am playing. So well done Luna. I am not sure how the embellishment around the sound hole is applied. I cannot feel any difference between the wood surrounding it and the embellishment. I find that kind of weird. Is that a good thing? I really don't know. As for Sweetwater, I was referred to them by a client at work. I really enjoy Ukuleles and shopping for them. I found Sweetwater to have a good selection and excellent financing options. The ordering process was very smooth and the customer service was amazing. I only regret not visiting their Ft. Wayne facility in person. Maybe I will for my next Uke purchase. Over all I am happy with my purchase. I have called it multiple time pretty and it is. However in my hand it feels kind of cheep. Maybe it is the embellishment around the sound hole, the painted/stained line on the bottom/back, or the finished used on this Ukulele. I don't know. If you are looking for a pretty Ukulele, you love the ocean, and you like Luna Ukes this Uke is for you. It is a fine Uke and I think you will enjoy it. I hope you find this review useful, I know I wish I could have read this review before purchasing... BUT probably would have still purchased anyway.
