Big Bang For The Buck!
I purchased this guitar because I wanted a 3/4 size short scale guitar to keep in a stand on the coffee table. Don't be fooled by the small size; this is definitely not a toy! When I opened the box, I was surprised to find the guitar in a lightweight gig bag even though the specs didn't mention that. The bag is really just a zippered cover, but it does offer some protection against… read more scratches. I was also impressed to find a truss rod wrench and a compensated saddle - a nice touch. This is an acoustic/electric model with a volume control, phase button, 3 band equalizer and a built-in tuner. The 9v battery was dead but I had new replacement ready to go. I had it tuned and playing in no time. The action is good, but I may lower it just a bit when I change the strings. I may also swap out the plastic bridge pins. I keep it plugged into a small Urban amp for when I want a little more volume. Acoustically, it's not loud, but then again it is of plywood construction. At this price, you're not likely to find any guitar made from solid wood. It is well built and finished nicely. Now, I can just pick it up anytime which is giving me much more playing and practice time. Overall, I'm very happy with this guitar!
Perfect Companion for an Adventuring Bard
I had two reasons for purchasing this guitar. Firstly, I thought it would be fun to have a little travel companion for camping, hiking, etc. Secondly, I wanted an acoustic but had no interest in spending a ton of money on one when I primarily play electric. To get to the point, I am really happy with this. It looks beautiful, sounds pretty good, and stays in tune well. However,… read more what impressed me most is the smooth playability. My main musical styles are Punk and Reggae, so I use bar chords constantly. Fretting and changing between them on the Luna is effortless. Now, if I wanted to be picky, I could point to little flaws, but since it is such a great instrument for the price tag, I don't see the point in being negative at all. I would recommend Lunas to anybody!
Well constructed
I bought this for reason of having a travel guitar because it'll fit in the overhead on a plane. Don't trust having your guitar handled by baggage at the airports. There were absolutely no rough edges on the frets, stays in tune, set-up is good, plays well and fingers smoothly. No nicks, dents, or scratches when it arrived. The gig bag it comes with is thin, no padding and canvas… read more type material. Purchase a 3/4 dreadnaught acoustic case for it if you value your guitars. This would also be a great beginner guitar for a young one to learn on. The Luna electronics are a plus and I like it them better than fishman. This is my fourth Luna guitar that I have bought and never had problems with any of them. The finish and design on these are great with no flaws. There were a couple others I wanted besides this one but for about a few bucks more it was worth getting the acoustic-electric. You cannot go wrong with a Luna for the price compared to other high priced guitars.
