Great for unfettered high fret access

My mandolin uses a heel strap button. Thicker straps get in the way of my fretting hand. The thinness of the strap takes some getting used to on my shoulder, but it doesn't feel bad and the mandolin is light enough it doesn't matter. The thinner contact also means the mandolin angle will adjust more readily, for better or worse. Lots of adjustability. Also as a plus, the strap… read more fits much more easily in my mandolin case. 4 stars because I think an adjustable wider shoulder pad (eg something that overlays the strap and makes it feel wider on the shoulder) would make it perfect. I may try to rig something up but this strap does solve my issues with high fret access. Thanks for your advice, Nate!
