Makes Fingers Hurt
This guitar hurts my fingers but only because I have trouble putting it down. I'm a long time novice and have a Fender CD-100. I wondered if I was worthy of upgrading to a solid wood Martin but the thought of a 000 that was a bit smaller and thinner for comfort made me pull the trigger when Sweetwater got one in stock. Even with my untrained ears I can tell a difference in sound… read more quality. This guitar has a slightly smaller body than the dreadnought but the bass notes boom a bit more than my Fender, the high notes seem to sing more, and the sustain when you strum an open chord is much better than the laminate Fender. The wood is amazing as I've read in other reviews. I like the simple look of the dark guitars with no binding so the sapele is great for me. The smoky smell of the wood stays in my sinuses long after I put the guitar away and fills part of the house even when in the case. I didn't think that meant a lot in a review, but it does make me hungry to play it like smelling fresh cookies makes you want some. The electronics are something I didn't think I needed, and I haven't played amplified yet. The tuner is very convenient though and it works well, I use it a lot more than my phone app tuner that I had prior to this.I saw a YouTube review where they compared this $ guitar to the $ 15-Series and while the mahogany guitar sounded better on the video I definitely am not worthy of that guitar at my current level. The reviewers said the 10-Series is great for the price and has most of the sound quality of the more expensive one. They said get the expensive one if you can afford it but you won't be disappointed with the $ one. I'm not and would buy it again.
Incredible
This is one of the best guitars I have ever played. In my 50+ years of playing the guitar, acoustic (classical and steel string) and electric, this guitar is pure Martin feels so good and the voice is so sweet. I LOVE IT.
